Melania Trump entered US with 'Einstein' visa designated for people with 'extraordinary ability'

Victor and Amalija are applying for US citizenship. It's unclear exactly when they moved here. But, they were listed as living in Florida in 2007 (as per the Washington Post). Melania became a Permanent Resident in 2001 and a Citizen in 2006.
Well they better hurry then, before Trump closes the door!

Bless your heart.

I did make a mistake. She obtained permanent residency in 2001... but got her Visa in 1998.

Sorry if the factual information otherwise troubles you.

Not if she is now a naturalized citizen. I have no idea of she is or not though - and can't muster the will to care.

A persons citizenship can be revoked if they lied to gain it

But I doubt that will happen in this case

If there was fraud in her immigration filings could she be deported?

She is a US citizen. You can't deport citizens. They can denaturalize her if she lied on her citizenship application.

If fraud was committed then citzenship can be revoked and deportation to follow

An overwhelming majority of poll participants rejected assisting Melania via a GoFundMe account -

View Poll Results: Would you donate to a GoFundMe on behalf of Melania divorcing Donald? Voters 30.

Yes 1 ......... 3.33%
No 29 ........ 96.67%

Melania may have submitted a Highlight Video with her Immigration Application? She displays obvious talent!

Dang it!!!
After the mule we had in the last administration, Melania is the hottest FLOTUS the US of A has ever seen.

I'm not against Melania, heck my sister is a Melanie. I like her better than Donald. I merely want to point out that he's all anti-immigrant (the brown kind). He'd like them from Norway, remember folks.

Keep it clean Saladin, or you will find out we have mods.

If she lied and the intent was to commit a serious crime. This is rarely done, and only for very serious issues. It's silly to even bring it up.

As a "high class escort" I think Melania's extraordinary abilities are NSFW. LOL.

To be married to a misogynistic, cheating, blowheart like DJT is in all reality an extraordinary achievement (and yes, I stole that from a late night show but thought it very true).

So first a model is let in under this program and then she gets her parents chainimmigrated into the USA. Sad, just sad, totally sad, I am sure these people are not the best. Just look at what misogynist they allowed their beautiful daughter to marry, sad really sad.

Rich and influential people can get O visas. The rest of us Schmoes use other methods that are just as effective.

For example, Don could have brought Melania over on a F-1 Fiancee visa just as easily as an O visa. An F visa is non-immigration, but once the visitor is married to a US citizen, the couple can petition the CIS (formerly INS) to convert the visa from temporary to permanent status and issue a green card. I know all this well since that's how I brought my wife over from China.

For that matter, she could have just come over on a B-1 Tourist visa, married Don and claimed undue hardship if she were forced to leave and gotten a green card that way. That's how most illegals who end up staying do it.

No need for intent to commit a serious crime AFAIK

Yes, there is that requirement. Both from a practical perspective and due to court decisions that minor errors and omissions don't count.

We just went through this in another thread where some lefties were horrified that our government does this at all. Again, it's extremely rare and used in only extreme cases. To suggest this meets any of those standards is silly.

Fraud is neither a minor error nor an omission

However, I do agree that it is very rare and unlikely to be used against Melania or her family

She got her visa in 2001... before she met Donald Trump. Do you have anything new?

FYI -- I'm sure this was facilitated by her agency, and you could make an argument that she met the criteria.

An alien applicant must meet 3 out of the 10 listed criteria below to prove extraordinary ability in the field:[1]

Evidence of receipt of lesser nationally or internationally recognized prizes or awards for excellence
Evidence of membership in associations in the field, which demand outstanding achievement of their members
Evidence of published material about you in professional or major trade publications or other major media
Evidence of judging the work of others, either individually or on a panel
Evidence of original scientific, scholarly, artistic, athletic, or business-related contributions of major significance to the field
Evidence of authorship of scholarly articles in professional or major trade publications or other major media
Evidence that work has been displayed at artistic exhibitions or showcases
Evidence of performance of a leading or critical role in distinguished organizations
Evidence of high salary or other significantly high remuneration in relation to others in the field
Evidence of commercial successes in the performing arts

Which three were you thinking of?

BUT BUT BUT Trump needs to be punished, and throwing his wife out would be so perfect.....surely these thoughts are tonight percolating in brains.

Hey, she's getting a little long in the tooth, so she's on her way out if trump holds to pattern.

It's a very slippery slope. They usually only do it for people that lie about serious stuff. For example if you are a nazi and don't tell them they will denaturalize and deport you. I think it should be very rarely done. I don't think govt should be deporting citizens. That's scary ****.
