An associate of Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) invoked the Fifth Amendment in order to not testify before the House Intelligence Committee on a dossier of opposition research that claims ties between President Trump and Russia, according to Fox News.
The committee originally issued a subpoena for David Kramer — a former State Department official and current senior director of the nonprofit McCain Institute — in December.
Committee Chairman Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) had wanted to speak with Kramer about his visit to London in November 2016, during which he met with the author of the dossier, former British intelligence officer Christopher Steele. According to court filings, he met with Steele at McCain's request, to view “the pre-election memoranda on a confidential basis."

Kramer then traveled back to the U.S. and gave copies of the memos to McCain, who in turn handed the documents over to the FBI.

I wonder what this guy knows that he doesn't want to talk about. It would be great if we found out that McCain was tied to the origination of this document. I am not saying that he is. There isn't any type of proof of that but it would be funny.

Funny, how?

Funny? More corruption in your government is funny?
Oh, wait, it's not even partisanship, but Republican infighting that you're cheering for.

You should know me by now. If something shadey is going on I want to know about it, regardless of which side is doing it. My opinion of McCain as a politician is in the trash. I totally respect him as a veteran and his time as a POW but as a politician he sucks ass. He isn't really a conservative.

Discovering more corruption in the government IS funny, in a cynical way, when the government is constantly blaring out "draining the swamp" and "serving the American people" and "transparency".

The government is like Pinocchio. The more it talks, the longer its nose grows.

McCain isn't dead yet, so the guy HAS to keep quiet.

But yes, McCain IS tied to this dossier mess. He was part of the anti-Trump efforts to give the dossier legitimacy.

You think something shady is going on with the dossier, but not with what the Mueller team is investigating? Over a 80 felony charges, over 17 people, and a plot as thick as molasses, but you're on about Nunes House Charade that has done nothing but run cover for team-Trump?

Fair and balanced....

I would tell Nunes a ****ing thing, give him the middle finger is what everyone should do...good on this associate for doing just that.

There are lots of charges, but zero that have anything to do with Trump, his campaign or collusion.

It all has to do with the Trump campaign, this is the former deputy of his campaign and his 2nd, both remarked by Trump's team as part of the "core 4" during the campaign. Core...not coffee boy!

Trump hiring criminals to run his campaign, has nothing to do with Trump's campaign?
Criminals who, gasp, were coordinating even DURING the campaign after Trump won the primary, with their Russian contacts, to discuss how to use his campaign position to "get whole" with Oleg Deripaska on the $7M he owed him and was being chased in court for? Oleg said sure, we'll meet...and they did, during the campaign.

You mean stuff during the campaign, has nothing to do with the campaign?
Using his position on the campaign for pro-Russian (stuff), had nothing to do with the campaign?

Who hired Manafort? Trump? We'll have to hear more to know if Trump just hires criminals like Flynn and Manafort and Gates, and people trivially easily willing to be criminals like papadapolus, etc., because he's just a ****ty president/human being, or because there was more to it. Regardless, Trump looks dirty as ****, and if we can't find his fingerprints on it, it seems more likely he simply avoided getting caught, not that he's not guilty as ****.

Looks like March could be interesting...the season is heating up!

First time I heard the term 'Rino' was during his election campaign.
But Trump isn't really a conservative either. He was a Democrat, and a Clinton supporter, before he decided to get into politics.

Something tells me that you don't want McCain as an enemy. Just sayin'.

Trump did support the Clintons. I think he did it because it suited what he wanted. It was Clinton. If you want something you gotta pay for it. Hell, he might be conservative for the same reason. I do know that his agenda has been pretty conservative and he's got a lot done. McCain has a long history of folding if it suits him.

He is easy to manipulate. His hubris is his weakness. Nobody is afraid of McCain.

All indictments against Manafort and Gates predate their association with Trump. The rest of your post is just wishful thinking

It doesn't matter that you deny reality and consider everything that's going on to be wishful thinking. Mueller's apparently on a tear, and there's no sign of it stopping any time soon. Enjoy the show.

The reality is that what Manafort is in trouble for predates his association with Trump. That is a fact. The ones denying reality are those who see these indictments and drool over the idea that Trump is in some sort of trouble. Hes not.

But it would glaringly expose him for the narcissistic manipulating little RINO that he is if he helped fund it or in any way was involved in the creation of the dossier. He couldn't side step that. The backlash would be great.
