One By One, Companies Cut Ties With The NRA

Pro-Gun lobbying organization.

Yeah, I know. I was just surprised they solicited small donations from random people. I had a different impression of them, is all.

They are probably buying targeted mailing lists.

Do you own guns, in part at lesst, to protect your family?

I fired a 357 blackhawk into the air to run off a couple of guys who were trying to enter the residence of our tenant in a "granny unit" when I was 17. She had just put 6, 22 cal rounds through the front door, so they were already leaving. My actions sent them fleeing even faster into the pasture.
I believe every American has the right and the responsibility to protect his life and property. No one else can and will do to it for you.
We live very rural. So we have fences and gates, we have big dogs, we have perimeter alarms, we have really bright LED motion detecting flood lights. And we have firearms that we shoot regularly in the back yard range. And we don't believe we need an assault rifle to protect our home. So, we do not see the argument about those weapons being necessary as valid. If you think you have to have one, then make your case. We will not join you.

You know that after they get the AR's, they're coming after your blackhawk, right?

didn't I see you on 'Swamp People?"

What's going to be ironic is this:

1. This will only serve to boost NRA donations and membership.

2. I'm glad these companies are self-identifying the majority of people who aren't mentally deranged can actually boycott using them.

This is definitely not going to turn out how these people think it will.

The start of things not turning out the way they hoped:

TAMPA -– Thousands of gun enthusiasts flocked to the Florida State Fairgrounds for the Florida Gun Show event.
Organizers say they had a record number of people attend the event on Saturday, almost 7,000, and expect more Sunday.
Manager for the Florida Gun Show, George Fernandez, says they’ve never seen such a big crowd.

He died, twenty years later, after not raising his goal. He was right. He was gonna die anyway. The guy was a con artist:
Roberts' fundraising was controversial. In January 1987, during a fundraising drive, Roberts announced to a television audience that unless he raised $8 million by that March, God would "call him home."[39][40] However, the year before on Easter he had told a gathering at the Dallas Convention Center that God had instructed him to raise the money "by the end of the year" or he would die.[41] Regardless of this new March deadline and the fact that he was still $4.5 million short of his goal,[42] some were fearful that he was referring to suicide, given the impassioned pleas and tears that accompanied his statement. He raised $9.1 million.[43] Later that year, he announced that God had raised the dead through his ministry.[44] Some of Roberts' fundraising letters were written by Gene Ewing, who headed a business writing donation letters for other evangelicals such as Don Stewart and Robert Tilton.[45]

 Wait 6 months to a year, they'll be supporting the NRA again after all this dies down. Assuming that they still aren't doing so under the table.

Ya mean like paypal???? They walked away from firearm related business years ago and for all the 'gun' rubber website rants seems to be doing quite nicely. I'd opine the rabid rubbers ended their boycott and use paypal... :peace

******s. Whose CEOs probably live life protected by these guns. This is all a marketing ploy for soft brained Democrats.

So these corporations figure there are far more customers who don't agree with the rabid rants of Wayne LaPierre and his ilk. But I'm curious, YOU think there are far more Dems (and indies) than 'gun' rubbers??? I tend to agree... :peace

There probably are. But they either don’t vote because they are soft brained kids who don’t know any better. Or they can’t vote because they are here illegally or they are a felon.

Ironically, the Florida teachers pension fund (Florida Retirement System Pension Plan) holds 41,000 shares in American Outdoor Brands Co. (formerly Smith & Wesson), maker of the semi-automatic AR-15 used by the shooter.

And the left wing propaganda machine rolls on. No talk of mental health, psychoactive drugs, no talk of the failure of law enforcement, or the school.... but lets attack an organization that had NOTHING to do with this savage attack and scream ambiguously about "guns" with no actual proposal for a solution or even an idea on how to address. Use a tragedy to attack political foes.

It's sick.

Ya I agree with your assessment. Sky-screamers are silly people.

However I think the NRA needs to be reduced to a gun club ONLY! They are detrimental to politics and common sense.
For instance...this AR15 has no business being sold to ANY civilian.

Actually, the ar-15 is exactly the type of weapon the framers had in mind when the 2nd was written. Being that we are a free nation with a consitution that recognizes this right, there is only one valid reason to own an ar-15

1. because I ****ing want one.

Your views are fascist, imagine you said that about the ACLU, or NOW, etc. how would that be recieved?

I feel the same about them too.
I want lots of things I can't have. I deal with that.

My position on guns is one of those issues I cannot side with the right on.
A civilian militia is not gonna stand up to the government.
Thus killing machines like the AR15 have no reasonable value in public, except to give some people a hard-on about the presence of it in their home.

Sorry...It all just makes no common sense what-so-ever.

Well then explain to me how there is a constitutional right to say an abortion but not an ar-15? it's in the constitution, deal with....... that.

Tell that to people in Iraq, Afghanistan, etc. there are examples of people standing up to greater forces all the time. The idea that because you think we would be doomed, so let them have our guns is sad.

I disagree. but I will happily give up my ar15, government first, though.

I do. I've said many times that I think the constitution is outdated and needs to be reworked to address this century.

Iraq and Afghanistan? The Iraqis got their arms from the American military. I bet the Afghans did too. In Syria the public tried to stand up to Assad, and got blasted to kingdom come. Ya...that worked...

What would you say the government should give up first? Arming the military?

Good luck with that.

Syrian war is over?

Whatever, if you want me to give up my guns, they give up theirs first.

LifeLock has cut NRA ties. FedEx refused comment today (translation - they're thinking on it).

Lifelock will lose more customers than the NRA.
