Nikolas Cruz's Carer Wants Control of Florida Shooter's $800K Inheritance

Something weird is going on with the Nikolas Cruz family. The foster mother is now suing to wrest control of the 800k that the shooter owned after kicking the kid out and stealing 2,900 dollars from him.


And the mother is involuntarily putting the younger brother into psychiatric care.


A source close to the family, who has not been named, told the New York Post Deschamps kicked Cruz out of her trailer after a fight over his gun collection. She also reportedly also took $2,900 from him before he moved out.

Deschamps filed a petition for Lynda’s estate just one day later, according to court reports obtained by the Post. In the document, Deschamps argued that she should be granted control as she is “caring for a 50 percent minor beneficiary."

The source told the Post that Deschamps had Cruz’s brother involuntarily committed on Friday. It is unclear if Zachary has since been released.
The filed petition does not reveal the total value of the estate. However, the Snead family, who cared for Cruz during the time the attack took place, said he was due to inherit at least $800,000 when he turned 22.

The most interesting thing here is that a guy who knew that he had $800K coming to him eventually would throw away his life in this way....there is certainly something going on that we dont know about.
 
That inheritance should go towards psychiatric treatment of the kids he affected.

There is an innocent brother here that deserves that money. The brother hasn't done anything to those kids.
 
One way or another that money will go to lawyers.

Was any of it going to him had his brother committed no crime?

Deschamps filed a court petition to be put in charge of settling Lynda’s estate the day after the Feb. 14 shooting, when Nikolas allegedly killed 17 of his former classmates and teachers at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla.

She had Zachary involuntarily committed Friday, the source said. Florida may hold minors for an involuntary mental exam for 12 hours, unless they are deemed incompetent.

Good observation. My bet is the influence of psychoactive drugs on the boy's brain is a significant factor in his destructive behavior.

Seeing as his de facto mother tried to steal his fortune the day after a massacre, and was willing to steal 2900$ in cash from him im wondering if its not an abusive mother. Along with the drugs.

well i was going to say there will not be much left of it after the families file a class action wrongful death suit against the kid and

more than likely if they start digging they will probably find that she pushed him over the edge.
She should probably be arrested as an accomplice in the fact.

These things can happen out of the blue but there is usually a trigger that pushes them over the edge.
time for the cops to do the job right this time.

And pay for more anti depressant drugs and more get mass murders? Seems like a questionable investment, at the very best....

I've understood the relationship between psychoactive drugs administered to youngsters "off label" and weird and violent behavior for a number of years.

I remember back a few years after Columbine someone did some research and discovered that out of about 20 such incidents, way more than half the individuals had been administered drugs such as SSRI types. There is a connection, but the media and politicians would rather make it about guns.
 
I can't help but notice that they managed to get the kid that wasn't (apparently) having mental health issues committed for an evaluation. Too bad they didn't think of that before with the kid that shot up the school.

The video you posted is of the Sneeds (sp?) They are the couple that took Cruz in after he was kicked out of the DesChamp's home. The DesChamp's kicked him out because he came into their home and started tearing it up. After they removed him from the home they called the police stating to the dispatcher they wanted protection. Rock DesChamp claimed Cruz was angry because he had taken away his guns and ammo. Cruz also called 911 after they evicted him and claimed he got angry because he had misplaced a picture of his dead mother.

What's not clear is if the DeChamps were acting as guardians for both boys and the younger brother was still in their custody.

Also other reports claim that the boys were suppose to receive their inheritance in increments not all at once.

Ohhh, so the Sneeds (the poeple in the video) arent the ones that are his foster parents? There is another DesChamp family that havent been interviewed? Now im confused.

The money should go into an estate named after the shooter and be used to compensate victims and cover law suits. A judge will probably appoint a disinterested executor to the estate.
