Pai’s efforts arrived, not coincidentally, at the same time Sinclair Broadcasting Group is attempting to acquire Tribune Media as part of a $3.9 billion dollar megamerger. It’s a deal a bipartisan chorus of critics say would demolish media diversity, resulting in Sinclair owning more than 230 local stations across 72 percent of the United States.

Is the administration trying to look worse than their predecessors?

How can anyone keep up with all the ‘swamp draining?’

Trump hires the best people.

I wonder if any Trump supporters will be by to enlighten as to how this cronyism and second-hand graft is OK because Hillary/Obama, or is fake news, etc. Maybe one will even say "where does it say that Pai admitted it?"

What they can't deregulate, they turn over to industry stooges to defang any enforcement capacity. This adminisraion's damage will be felt for generations.

Pai was recused from FCC decisions 42 times last year (conflicts of interest). That's almost once per week. He should have recused himself from the Sinclair/Tribune merger decision.
