Trump orders a "grand military parade" on his behalf

If it was a parade to honor UN troops, it would be lauded.

The right is all ifs ands buts. Youse got nothing but. The right wants to demolish UN, Nato, EU -- everything that has to do with the national security and economic stability of the United States.

This is the typical response from someone with TDS.
if you notice i am not the one screaming at the sky about a parade.

You also do not seem to know what TDS is.

Do you suffer from Trump Derangement Syndrome?

here is a general outline for you so that you can tell what stage you are in.

Youse need a better shield. The TDS is old, predictable, battered, beaten and full of holes from months back already. It's become the glib default response.

I'm 90 miles from the parade route. I'll be there.

Right smack in the gridlock. Pack a lunch and take yer fartsack.

If it was Obama's idea, you would call it the best idea since sliced bread.

I'm glad you think you have some sort of crystal ball to detect an alternate reality, but in this reality it is TRUMP, not Obama or Hillary, who wants to waste money on a parade which 89% of military members have said they DON'T want to have and that CONS have said the government doesn't have the money to waste.

There is no defense of Trump, so the elementary reaction is for you to bring up Obama or Hillary. Nice try, but your deflection only works for Trumptards.

I still don't care, but it's funny to watch Liberals whine about spending money.

Let's see, spending money on social programs that help people or spending money on your master Trump who you constantly have to stroke his ego. Hmmm I'll take option 1 and then laugh at the hypocrisy of cons who think wasting money on their master is a good idea.

Like Obamacare? :lamo

It’s been proven the ACA has helped many people. How is the parade going to actually help people live? Keep coming with the deflections and fake comparisons though. It’s hilarious showing people your partisan comments are just garbage.

And ****ed even more. :lamo

Hum. You know what's ironic. A lot of this 'military parade' stuff was he thought the military parade he saw in france with the bee's knees..

What he forgot is that military parade was celebrating the overthrow of Wealthy Few by the people of france.

What's the EU got to do with security? Or economic stability for that matter?

The Economist is a good source too that knows the score (paywall) as many over here know. There are other sources also Mr. President although my own view is clear and obvious without necessarily having to read sources. My own strategic analysis informs me thx, independently.

The EU and NATO are Mr Putin’s ultimate targets. To him, Western institutions and values are more threatening than armies. He wants to halt their spread, corrode them from within and, at least on the West’s fragile periphery, supplant them with his own model of governance. In that model, nation-states trump alliances, states are dominated by elites, and those elites can be bought. Here, too, he has enjoyed some success. From France to Greece to Hungary he is cultivating parties on Europe’s far right and left: anyone who might lobby for Russian interests in the EU, or even help to prise the union apart (see article). The biggest target is NATO’s commitment to mutual self-defence. Discredit that—by, for example, staging a pro-Russian uprising in Estonia or Latvia, which other NATO members decline to help quell—and the alliance crumbles.

Montenegro leader: Russia wants to destroy EU

Montenegro's former prime minister has called on the European Union to stop Russia's "destructive" influence in the Balkans following what the country says was a thwarted attempt to overthrow its pro-Western government.

Milo Djukanovic, who stepped down after the alleged pro-Russian plot in October to prevent the small Balkan country from joining NATO, said in an interview with The Associated Press on Tuesday that Moscow "is waging a kind of war against Europe" and is threatening "the very existence of the European Union."

Montenegro's prosecutors have accused Russia and its secret service operatives of plotting the election-day coup attempt that included plans to kill Djukanovic.

As three profs of political economy at Berkeley wrote at the UC Berkeley Blog...

Does this mean that Putin is out to destroy the European Union? At the least, it is clear that Moscow has been reaching out to Euroskeptic parties and groups from across the political spectrum, both the far left and especially far right. There is also evidence, much of which is circumstantial but not all, that the Kremlin is providing financial assistance to Euroskeptic parties. Marine Le Pen, for example, acknowledged last week that her far right party, The National Front, received a nine million Euro loan from a Russian bank. There are also rumors of Russian financing of Jobbik in Hungary and UKIP in the UK.

Meanwhile, Russian oligarchs have been purchasing European newspapers, including The Independent, The Evening Standard, and France-Soir. The French newspaper Liberation recently highlighted the extent of pro-Putin connections in French academia, think tanks of both the left and the right, and media and business networks.

A battle of values is therefore looming. The European Union stands for democracy, freedom, the rule of law, and institutionalized international cooperation. While this is not true of all Putin admirers, certainly many oppose those values and instead embrace authoritarianism, intolerance, and the use of force and intimidation as instruments of foreign policy. If Putin wants to destroy the European Union, there is no better way to help him. Europe needs growth, and it needs bold leadership.

It would never happen but picture this. Putin receiving a parade in Paris by the countries of a former EU hailing their new continental leader Vlad. Donald Trump rolls past on an M-60 tank saluting.

Hmmm...ok. So you're concerned that Vladimir Putin and his Russian oligarchs are gonna take over the western economies? And by extension the military and governments? Good. You should be. Maybe this concern will force people to pay attention to Europe. Do you know how people in Central Europe feel about the EU and its many, very expensive regulations? Or how do you figure they feel about waking up one day to realize their county's infrastructure and banks now have new owners who live in the USA, Germany, Italy, France...and that prices are going through the roof? Now imagine a Czech guy who's being told he has to share his nation with Arabs and Africans. Bet he's got his 'all-inclusive' and loving attitude on, eh? NOT! This typical Czech guy...lets call him Tomas...has watched his food, gas, heating, water, and every other bill rise to the point where its getting silly. He's a little bewildered by the results of his nation's freedom from Soviet rule. So he elects a drunk...and make no mistake, Zeman is a drunk...who has communist leanings and does not cow to the EU. Does not think this great capitalist dream has been so rosy. And does not want refugees in his nation.

Tomas in Czech, Zoltan in Hungary, Heinz in Austria. Vosek in Slovakia. They all feel the same. Now take a look at the map and colour the nations I've just named grey, along with all the nations east of them right to Russia. What do you see?

The EU IS their problem. It is not helping anyone but the western European nations. NATO has proven itself to be a toothless, tired old lie. And the International Monitary Fund/World Bank cronies...f&%ked over the entire region. Putin knew they would do that, and opted to 'sell out' to Russian interests (the oligarchs) instead because...as Russians he could control them more.

And all this right under your noses, while y'all feign disgust in the crassness of Trump and fear a fat ugly little man in North Korea.
I'd say we all been had...by the greed of our own financial monsters, and the stupidity of the terminally 'inclusive'.

HRC won 64% of the biggest GDP counties.

We produce much of the wealth so when we whine youse over there should be smart enough to pay attention. And when we tell youse youse are spending too much youse would be wise to listen then too.

Jus sayin.
