Being the son of one of the most prolific murderers in history has got to be tough.

Such a waste. Seemed to be an extremely intelligent man. And holy cow, did he look like his father?!

Depression is a big old nasty, hairy bitch, and it can happen to the most of us, or the least of us. :(
 
His beloved occupation, that of nuclear physicist, was well nigh impossible once the USSR had withdrawn support. He was a fish out of water, a guitarist with no hearing.
I suspect that made his depression worse.
