Kansas Republican lawmaker says black people can’t handle marijuana because of ‘their genetics’

These are the state officials doing the remaps. Alford's western Kansas state district is pure trump. With its own opiod problems.

Btw, I'm on 2nd/3rd shift living so I can see my wife when she gets up and goes to work. You're 1st/2nd shift posting

I was on a conference call at 4:00 am ET with England, and can't get back to sleep.

Here in NH we have very few blacks, yet we lead the nation in opiod deaths and addiction. Maybe this lawmaker can shed some light on the character makeup of all the white people here in NH who are addicted to opiods because of the marijuana gateway.

I know what that is like, I work at home and sometimes we have conference calls with England and India, leads to some weird times for calls, thankfully most of us are in Mountain or Pacific time, so we usually win!

Alford made it ALL about the 'Black Race' only, playing the despicable 'genetics' card. Let him be one of the many new faces of the trump GOP ...

or just an idiot that says stupid things.

unless you really want to go there and i am sure i can pull some pretty racist comments by some democrats and plaster them as the typical face of liberals.
that is the issue with paintbrush fallacies.

Reminds me of the weed crackdowns before POTUS elections with Nixon going forward. I kept hearing 'we'll give up the hard stuff if you'll give us back our herb'. Never underestimate the alcohol industry in keeping pot illegal, along with the pharms. Wait until you see this pharm skunk testify today ...

I never win. They don't seem to care that 4:00 am is beddy time for me. Kills me, but I have to do it.

The worst are the ones I have to have at the ass crack of dawn on Sunday mornings with the Middle East.

Ha! Fortunately my worst ones are either 6 am or 6 pm, but we have offices all over the planet, and a huge amount of people working at home. Beats having to try to live in Silicon Valley, I couldn't afford that, plus, I just paid off my house last month, waiting for the savings to start accruing.

I have always pined for MTN/PAC time. Kansas could probably use some of the weed tax receipts that neighboring Colorado gets, instead of busting out-of-staters coming from CO, like NE and WY also do. NM seems better ...

We're well past that point with GOP cultural wars since McCarthy/Nixon ...

We don't observe daylight savings time, so it gets weird.

Yes, Blacks are genetically different in one degree or another from Whites. This also has the same basis when you mention Indians, both native and eastern, while Asians fall into the same category as well when it comes to some glaring dietary and chemical resistances.

Most people who come from more tribal backgrounds cannot easily handle large amounts of salt or sugar constantly in their diets.

It shows, because we have studies on heart disease that span entire genealogies and family trees.

I would not be surprised that there was a small demographic of a people, who somehow have adverse or more sensitive reactions to THC.

Medically, such an assumption is not impossible.

I have a genetic history that connects me to Niall and the Nine Hostages. Does your tribal "truth" apply to people like me? Why is it that no one in my family has ever had diabetes? I eat salt on everything, so do my brothers (one brother does have high blood pressure - not related to salt), my father eats salt on everything and except for one brother no one has high blood pressure.

I guess, it kinda, sorta, sometimes, maybe, every once in a while depends on your tribe, then. Kinda, sorta, sometimes. That's cutting edge science you're working with Oborosen.

Or in other words...

same can be said for racist democrats who make policy and write remaps.
except it just shows your hypocrisy. If you want to apply a standard then you need to apply that same standard.
this isn't a whataboutism it is fact. YOu seem to ignore some of the pretty racist things that democrats say because it
doesn't serve your agenda.

a paintbrush fallacy is a paintbrush fallacy no matter who is doing it.

The only way that pot is a gateway drug is that because it is illegal it introduces you into a world where there are many other illegal products available. Trust me I am speaking from experience...

I could mean anything to a moron I suppose. However for those that can understand context clues, it was very obvious. I was clearly speaking in the medical context where a substance effects someone more than it should.

"Medical context" means that there has to be some actual scientific evidence for it. Otherwise, it's just National Enquirer/Fox News nonsense. That's the difference between believing that global warming is real and not just a Chinese hoax, and laughing at people who believe cultural myths born out or the racism of the 1930s. It's all just about seeing beyond the propaganda and critically looking at the actual science and evidence. But what do we liberal fake news types know about actual facts and evidence, right?

I agree with you. But up here in NH our lawmakers are convinced that pot is a gateway drug. Most of the privileged white kids in my town smoke weed, probably including my own.

I've been smoking weed since college, as has my husband, and it hasn't led us to anything else.

at least be consistent.

the person is an idiot for saying it.
he doesn't speak for everyone else just himself.

Those lawmakers are drinking the only real gateway drug, alcohol ...

I come from a family of alcoholics, I only smoked pot until I got in the army and had to quit (well kinda) for obvious reasons. Since then I have be a functional (most times) alcoholic. People that don't know me are surprised at how much beer I drink and they can't tell. I have anxiety issues and when the mother of my children died they got far worse. If weed were legal that would be my first choice for what my doctor calls "self medicating".

In the days of my youth I was a pretty good closest gardener but I am a single father and that and getting busted just picking up a bag is not an option for me.

Weed has only led me to more weed. :2razz:

Alford speaks for KS House-124, he ran unopposed in 2016.

Btw, Oklahoma votes June 26 on marihuana ...
