How, though?

Double jeopardy would apply if they were acquitted. The only other basis I can think of would be prosecutorial misconduct so egregious that it forever impaired the defendants' ability to get a fair trial, but I'm not sure how that plays in that federal circuit.


The article says the basis was a Brady violation (failure to turn over exculpatory evidence) that violated a "universal sense of justice". Seems a bit odd. It doesn't appear to mention the judge saying anything about the misconduct irreparably damaging their ability to get a fair trial. Rather, it sounds like the basis was deterrence. Not sure that'll fly if appealed.

Biggest evidence ever that the MSM isn't as "liberal" as the right would have us believe was the absolute railroading OWS received from the MSM. Aside from MSNBC the media steadfastly refused to report what was actually happening.

Watched the whole thing on Free Speech TV and other outlets. Saw the MSM act bewildered about things explained at length the first day and interviews with the people whose job it was to explain to spectators/guests/newcomers.

Saw the videos of the local homeless outreach groups reporting the police rounding up problematic homeless people from all over the city and dumping them at OWS with promises of free food and stuff.

Most obvious proof of whose interests are best being served in this country I have ever seen.

A federal building that was unoccupied out in the middle of an uninhabited desert. If Antifa did that I strongly doubt anyone would be demaning a heavy handed response. That’s different then a riot on the streets of a city, which is what BLM and antifa seem to prefer

The Fed's are the ones that sent guns to the Bundy's from the start. You are the one who is too much of a hack to admit that the fed's ****ed it up from the beginning.

You approve of the Fed's taking private lands from a state, and then jacking up the rates to ranchers and farmers after they take custody of it? All the while having no use for the land itself?

That was not the point to begin with.

Even a racist deserves the same right to the legal system as a non criminal/non racist person.

Just in case your very narrow minded self has missed the point, there are hundreds of other ranchers and farmers who have experienced severe gov't overreach besides the Bundy (assholes).

So the feds messed up the case. I hate to see the Bundys get off scott free because of that. Oregonians were fed up with them. All the crimes associated with their sense of entitlement, their lack of respect for our government, which led to their occupation of Malheur. It was also a huge bungle that one of them was shot and killed during the ordeal.

That's irrelevant, since the prosecutor willfully and blatantly violated their civil rights. He should be investigated and if misconduct is found, disbarred, possibly indicted and put on trial.

I laugh out loud at people like you who bend the talking points as the conversation flows.

Bundy took over a freaking post season park agent station, while BLM supporters were burning down cities and shooting Dallas cops.

No rational person supports either, but I'm not going to sit here and let idiots claim that one can be acceptable and not the other.

Then that’s a matter for courts to decide, not taking over a federal building armed and pointing weapons at federal officials.

Obviously the prosecution's case was weak as hell, since they thought they needed to break the law to get a conviction.
