That's a pretty thin straw you're grasping. Obama wouldn't have insulted and threatened openly another nation through Twitter. Hypothetically, he would've done it through a press conference using elegant speech and clever words, for example :

"It is clear to me, uuuuh *points thumb at reporter* that, uuuuh, the North Korean Government has issued threats concerning a potential Nuclear Attack on American Soil. uuuuh, I just want to assure the American People, uuuh, that we are entirely prepared for such a confrontation. We would also, uuuh, wish to warn the North Korean Government that our arsenal is, uuuh, entirely capable of *points thumb* quickly and accurately responding to any nuclear strike attempts, uuuh, from their part."

Yeah, he wouldn't have done it so bluntly. But a veiled thread is still a threat.

Still, wasn't really the point of my post. I could have put any Presidents name in there and it still would have the same outcome.

The problem isn't really that he threatened another country, it's that he did so in a very childish, immature way using a unofficial form of communication. Such statements should be done in a more polite, official manner. I don't want international foreign affairs being discussed one-on-one through the presidents Twitter account.
