Everyone suspected the sketchy Steele Dossier was what corrupt FBI and DOJ officials used to get the October 2016 FISA warrant against Trump. FBI and DOJ officials refuse to answer that question publicly.

Despite a hundred different ways congressional investigators have asked the question, and despite numerous on-camera questions to FBI and DOJ officials about the 2016 FISA process, no-one had definitively confirmed the Christopher Steele ‘Russian Dossier’ was the underlying evidence for the 2016 FISA application to gain wiretaps and electronic surveillance upon presidential candidate Donald Trump. UNTIL NOW.

Senator Lindsey Graham just confirmed the sketchy Steele Dossier was used to get the wiretap and surveillance warrant from the FISA court. Brian Kilmead understood what he was hearing was serious, but didn’t quite catch the specific gravity of it.

If it is true, then Trump is right about the FBI.

And the spin begins.

NYT: Papadopoulos told Australian diplomat Russia had Clinton dirt - CNNPolitics

George Papadopoulos told an Australian diplomat that Russia had "political dirt" on Hillary Clinton in May of last year, a conversation that might have played a role in the FBI's decision to open an investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election, according to a report published Saturday.

The New York Times reported that Papadopoulos, then a foreign policy adviser to Donald Trump's campaign, was drinking at an upscale London bar when he told Australia's top diplomat in Britain, Alexander Downer, that Russia had political information on Clinton.
A few weeks before their meeting, Papadopoulos was told Moscow had thousands of emails relating to Clinton, CNN has reported.

God this is too much!

The whole investigation started because of one dudes big drunk mouth!:lamo

He hedged around it, he didn't spell it out, imo.

I thought it was already confirmed.

When you're a Trump supporter and you haven't talked about FISA warrants in 10 minutes...

This doesn't just embarrass the FBI, it discredits the functions of the FISA Court...moreso than it's already discredited.

I watched the interview you provided via the link.

1 - Where does Senator Graham claim that the dossier was the information which got the government a warrant? Can you provide that quote because I did not hear it.

2 - So what if the dossier was part of the information the government used to investigate Trump and Russia. So what?

The spineless Graham has become highly skilled for his ability to talk out of both sides of his mouth depending on which way the wind is blowing and is the modern version of a mugwump. That is shown in this interview.

I was about to respond to the points WCH made but you beat me to it! The NYT article never mentions FISA.

I just wish somebody on the far right who pretends that the mere mention of the word DOSSIER is suppose to shut Mueller and his investigation down in his tracks could offer an explanation that you do not have to be a right wing Trumpkin to understand as to why this dossier is so important to them.

Unfortunately, that is not quote what he said.

What he said was @ 4:59:

I am very disturbed about what the DOJ did with this dossier...and what I saw and what I've gathered in the last couple of days bothers me a lot and I'd like somebody outside DOJ to look into how this dossier was handled and what they did with it...the one thing I can say is every Prosecutor has a duty to the Court to disclose things that are relevant to the request (implying a request for a warrant) so any time a document is used to go Court for legal reasons I think the DOJ owes it to the Court to be up and up about exactly what this document is about, who paid for it, whose involved, what their motives might be. I can just say this, after having looked at the history of the dossier and how it was used by the DOJ I am very concerned and this can't be the new normal.

So, while he did state he was concerned about how this dossier was used by the Obama DOJ, and implied it may have been used to get the FISA Court warrant, he did not "confirm" this was the case.

He was asking for a DOJ investigation to find out just what role the Steele Dossier had on the initial Russia Collusion investigation.

Having said that, I agree that such an investigation has merit for the very same reasons the Progressive-Left has been howling for the Russian Collusion investigation. That is if there was a conspiracy to undermine a Trump Administration and unseat Trump should he be elected, then this is a much more damning and treasonous example of internal American-based election interference than yet to be proven "Russian collusion."

Honestly, the only thing that matters to me about the dossier, is whether or not its true. If it's true, and they used it to obtain a warrant, what gripe do conservatives have? That the DOJ was doing its job.. and investigating... criminals?

If it's not true, which, all conservatives have seemingly already determined, then that is a monumental **** up on the part of our law enforcement and intelligence community.

At least you're predictable.

Whenever there is information that doesn't bode well for you side of the political fence, you chime in with insults instead of addressing the topic.

Nobody wiretapped Trump. He STILL has no evidence to show it.

Yeah, this isn't even close to what the OP proclaimed. Being "disturbed" isn't the same as "THEY DID THAT ****! AND HERE'S THE PROOF" Please, reel it back in there Sparky.

I highly doubt the dossier was the only basis for the FISA warrant, but, if there is a question as to how it was used in the process, let there be an investigation. It won't hurt anything.

If it's not true, which, all conservatives have seemingly already determined, then that is a monumental **** up on the part of our law enforcement and intelligence community.

The Dossier was considered raw intelligence by the Intelligence community. AS such, all the claims are not expected to be proven as facts. When police have a confidential Informant they make assessments about what that informant tells them. They will eliminate what doesn't seem credible and accept or further investigate what does seem credible. I would suspect that the same process is used with our intelligence agencies . Obviously the FISA Court is not a one judge court. I believe there are actually NINE Judges that sit on the FISA Court. To convince Nine Judges that there is a need for surveilence isn 't an easy hurdle to over come. If the Dossier alone was used to obtain this surveilence then the Dossier must be pretty compelling. So I know some of you can't seem to worry about the sovereignty of our nation more than you can worry about your DEAR DONALD, but I ask you, please try to show some patriotism over partisanship.

You are assuming that A) The dossier is fake and B) Lindsey Graham deserves to be believed. One of these can't be true, and parts of the Dossier were already confirmed to be accurate. So what exactly is the problem here? Conservatives believing their own BS???

ONE part. Another part has been proven false. Be realistic about this please.
