Russia Warns U.S.: Don’t ‘Meddle’ In Upcoming Presidential Election

Russian President and former KGB Lt. Colonel Vladimir V. Putin

Russian President Vladimir Putin’s government has issued a warning to the U.S.: Don’t “meddle” in the country’s upcoming election. Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova accused the U.S. this week of “direct interference into the electoral process” after the State Department criticized Russia’s decision to ban opposition leader and anti-corruption activist Alexei Navalny from running for president. A State Department rep had decried the Russian government’s “ongoing crackdown against independent voices, from journalists to civil society activists and opposition politicians,” according to a statement obtained by Business Insider. “We urge the government of Russia to hold genuine elections that are transparent, fair, and free and that guarantee the free expression of the will of the people, consistent with its international human rights obligations,” the State Department said. Zakharova suggested the U.S. was “meddling” in the Russian election by issuing such comments.

The gall of Putin's regime is astounding. Putin is seeking his fourth term as president of Russia and has held the office of president for 14 years since 2000. The Putin regime controls virtually all Russian print, internet, and broadcasting media outlets. Putin's main challenger was the popular opposition activist Alexei Navalny. However Mr. Navalny has been banned form being a presidential candidate due to a trumped up criminal charge and kangaroo court conviction which was Putin's ace in the hole. The only other known candidate is the Russian reality TV star Ksenia Sobchak. After the USSR fell apart, KGB Lt. Col. Putin returned to his hometown of St. Petersburg and joined the staff of St. Petersburg Mayor Anatoly Sobchak (d. 2000) ...Ksenia's father. Mayor Sobchak took Putin under his wing and schooled him on political power and corruption. Vladimir Putin is the Godfather of Ksenia Sobchak.

**** Russia. I hope the US floods their internet with lies and fake news and it is as successful as the fake news they flooded our internet with.

Hell. We STILL have some Trumptards believing all that fake news, long after it has been debunked. Such is life in the alt-world with alt-truth and alt-facts.

Can't fix stupid.

Isn't it ironic that the yokels who screech about fake news are the #1 consumers of it.

Indeed.

And it's hard to get too angry at the Russians when, after all, it was those same yokels who spread it around social media like wildfire. It's bad enough that they have been "dumbed-down," now they want to "dumb-down" the rest of us to their level. If they only knew how stupid they appear to be. They certainly don't get embarrassed very easily. LOL!

They think the whole world is a conspiracy. Just look at their representatives. Look at the media they consume. It's all fear based pandering that is unsupported by science and data.

You mean like all the folks who believe the Steele Dossier is factual? You think it's factual; don't you?

Well, consider what largely free and fair elections have led us to in the U.S.

Is our system really so much better because we conceal our corruption marginally better than they do?

Was there a conspiracy between the Russian government and the Trump Campaign to steal the 2016 election?

with how spooked Trump is of the Russian investigation; it wouldn't surprise me.

Don't run around making conspiracy accusations...lol

Did you know that based in data that we can measure, Sean Hannity is the number one purveryor of conspiracy theories in the mainstream media?

How did it go when Maddow leaked President Trump's tax returns?

Or, when Brian Ross claimed that candidate Trump ordered Flynn to call the Russian ambassador?

Did Obama warn Putin?

Yeah, Sean Hannity beats them all..

https://www.vox.com/2017/11/15/16649292/hannity-conspiracy-theorist-transcript-data

I analyzed the past two years of transcripts from Hannity, his Fox News program that airs every weeknight, and found a show that peddles conspiracy theories more than any other news show in the US. Hannity often mirrors the language of online conspiracy forums, and it's only gotten more frequent since Hannity's friend and fellow conspiracy theorist Donald Trump became president.

I measured this by analyzing the overlap between Hannity’s show and the top posts from Reddit's /r/conspiracy forum. (More on the methodology at the bottom of this post.)

This data is even more astounding if you consider that Hannity is a one-hour show airing only on weekdays, while many of the other top shows, like MSNBC Live and CNN's New Day, air for multiple hours each day.

Now, just because a show appears on this list doesn't mean it peddled conspiracy theories. For example, if the president tweets out a conspiracy theory and the program covers it, then the show would make an appearance on this list. That said, there's only so much you can talk about a conspiracy theory before you cross the line into legitimizing it.

That's what Hannity does. He takes conspiracy theories and gives them a platform; he encourages his viewers to distrust their ears, because the media and liberals are collaborating to mislead Americans.

METHODOLOGY:

I scraped the top 1,000 posts of Reddit's /r/conspiracy forum and grouped similar posts. From there, I came up with keywords and contextualizing words that helped me detect when a news program might be talking about one of these theories; this was a manual process, since many Reddit posts are often just image links. This helped me find about 100 search terms. Using those curated words, I searched transcripts of cable television news from the TV News Archive using the Television Explorer tool from the GDELT Project. This gave me every instance in which the keywords were used within four sentences of the contextualizing words.

The jury is still out on that. If it comes to light to be true, you certainly would not believe it anyways so why ask?

One thing for sure. All the fake pro-Trump propaganda that was floated around and passed on by the less intelligent among our society did have a profound impact on the election. I mean, Trump lost the popular vote but he was able to dupe enough gullible s to win the EC.

You see, Russia didn't corrupt the voting machines. They corrupted the mind's of the gullible ideologists. And a fool's vote counts just as much as an intelligent person's does.

Face it. Because of that stupidity, we are now stuck with the most dishonest, lying, p.o.s. that has ever occupied the Whitehouse in my lifetime. (And that even includes G.W. Bush.)

i don't want the US meddling in Russia's or anyone's elections. also, trying to influence the Russian election would be pointless. Putin is a czar, and will remain a czar until he gets bored with it or until the Russian people get so angry with him that he's forced out. this election is a sham.

I've always felt that any collusion would occur in information sharing. The targeting of specific districts in specific swing states requires a pretty good knowledge of US politics. Either they got that information from the campaign or paid another political operative to gather than information.

Well, that does pass the smell test as far as common sense goes, however, that is still just speculation.

As hard as the Trumper's are trying to "poison the well" in regards to any findings the F.B.I. may or may not come up with, to plant the seeds of doubt, so to speak, common sense would lead a thinking person to believe that there was collusion. Otherwise, why would they be trying so hard to cast doubt on the F.B.I.? But, again, that too, is just speculation.

I have a feeling that when the truth does get revealed, Comrade Trump might be in a world of hurt. Of course, that will not matter one bit to his blind followers. They are willing to believe any lie he tells them. That has been proven, over and over again.

Like Putin has anything to worry about. No way he'll allow any name on that ballot but his own.

Trump is not going to tweet about how he will not call Putin a 3rd grade insult.

It's like watching Trump tell his 30% that he had the biggest inauguration crowd ever.

30%: according to the same pollsters who said Hillary had a 90+% chance of winning. Polls conducted or paid for by a highly dishonest MSM who hate President Trump. Pollsters who know there is no upcoming election that their numbers will be compared to.

By the way, yes at 12:00pm Obama did have a bigger crowd than President Trump had a 7:40 am.

Pollsters correctly predicted more people would vote for Hillary. Trump won 5 states or so by a total margin of 70k. If you think that is reproducible or that polling is bogus because of that...well..enjoy the ride.
