U.S. Third-Quarter Growth Revised Up to 3.3%, Three-Year High

GDP never topped 3% annually when Obama was President.

That's not true at all. They are being "asses" over tax reform because it blows a hole in the budget with no benefit to most Americans.

Why do you think cutting taxes on corporations which have had healthy profits for years and have had plenty of cash sitting around is going to cause this great economic boom? What issue does this tax cut solve that will result in some sort of unleashing of pent up demand or supply?

I know it's like tilting at windmills to ever try to educate a liberal about economics but cash doesn't sit around.( geezus how do you NOT know that?)

And what has Trump done to accomplish anything in this regard.

Economic recovery and growth is as much a matter of a positive outlook as it is numbers.

But on the numbers front Trump has been dismantling the regulation regime he inherited, and reducing the cost of doing business. Businesses invest long term on how the perceive the markets behaving years down the road. Under Trump there is a prevailing belief that doing business will cost less, and growth will continue. Look at how the stock market responded today to the news that the tax bill will likely make it through the senate.

Obama's biggest negative effect on the economy was perception. Nobody knew how to invest in an Obama economy because his positions, and the Administrations regulation regime would change towards more cost and greater restriction almost monthly.

I don't think the biggest thing Trump did for the economy is defeat Hillary and replace Obama.

Someone here was recently spamming articles in the Economy subforum from economists concluding that anything above 2% GDP growth was not possible in a mature Western economy.

Actually the democrats will have another chance to influence the bill when it goes to the whole senate to begin debate. I hope you know the final bill is not settled, and the democrats need to park their pride and get engaged with the Republicans.

GOP Tax Reform: Four Misleading Arguments | National Review

It's really no surprise to me that you missed the point of my post. I am unconcerned about the dems "another chance to influence the bill" and I'm didn't ask for you to post a conservative editorial that obediently defends the tax cuts and obediently attacks the democrats. If factual and relevant criticism of the current tax makes democrats "asses" then what in god's name did you call the republicans for these ridiculous lies

The stimulus will cause hyper inflation, dollar collapse, market to zero
The auto bailout is an illegal union bailout
Death panels
(put all Obamacare lies here)

again, you're only proving republicans are unfit to govern. See if you can respond to what I posted this time instead of what you wish I posted.

Proof of this absurd claim- 8 years of data. Prove it.

I recall it clear as day... and just googled it... you should too.

Google: Obama economic forecast revised downwards.

Then, for more accurate readings... insert year.

Enjoy.

Nope- you made the claim- you prove it. Otherwise it is JPC- Just Plain Crap.
Game on?

I’m speaking to a much wider audience than you. I’m surprised you don’t get that.i get that you won’t change your views even when they are wrong.

Your “fit” Democrats added ten trillion to the debt, nearly wiped out the middle class, kept wages down with open borders, and had economic growth so low if barely replaced deaths and retirements.

what an odd and of course cowardly dodge. I asked you a question about something you posted and you've twice hit the reply button and you've twice not responded to my post.

Oh and chuck, I know posting actual facts wont stop you from believing your the lying conservative narratives but I don't cowardly dodge questions about what I've posted.

er uh chuck, if you're simply going to hide behind false conservative narratives instead of responding in an honest and intelligent manner then maybe a debate forum is not the best place for you.

I don’t answer to you, and I don’t owe you an essay on the effects of tax cuts. If you don’t like my answer, fine. You’ll just have to sit there and deny America is making progress with a new president.

LOL you walked right into that one Vern!

Nobody thinks money is sitting in a vault. What they know is that corporations have plenty of capital (since using the term cash is distracting for you) and they are not using that capital to build factories, improve products etc etc.

I'll ask the question again since rather than answering it you posted an article providing an obvious answer to a question never asked. If capital is not a constraint for a corporation...why is adding more capital going to provide any benefit?

I don't think I walked into anything. You're simply regurgitating conservative lies and spin. the only thing on your list that can even be considered a lie is the first one and president Obama apologized for it. And the point you are "courageously" deflecting from is that chuck called democrats "asses" for their factual and relevant criticism of their tax cut proposal.

I didn't ask for an essay on the effects of the tax cuts. I asked you about your posts. You simply join a long list of conservatives who are befuddled by the concept of debate. If you have no intention of ever having an honest and intelligent discussion, why are you at a debate forum?
