Republicans in Alabama and nationally have given up on mounting a write-in challenger to Senate candidate Roy Moore, having concluded that the idea is no longer feasible—if it ever was in the first place.

Their resignation means both that the party is stuck with Moore on the ballot and that the only chance to ensure he doesn’t end up in the Senate is to attempt to expel him once he arrives, assuming he wins.

McConnell hoped this would be an option. My prediction - Alabamians will go with Moore, a proven child molester.

Sad that a child molester is deemed a better option than a Democratic candidate.

1. Senate guarantees removal. We're at 10/18? Public pressure in the senate will be heavy.

or

2. State GOP withdraws endorsement, forcing a reschedule of the election.

The seat is not going D; it's against the interest of representation.

Not if more people vote for a Democrat because they don't want to vote for a ****ing child molester.

Get all that nonsense out of your head. Roy Moore will win and the GOP will allow him to serve as a Senator. That is the reality. The GOP has chosen tax cuts over principles.

Didn't the governor already say that the election would be as scheduled?

The voters will decide whether they want Moore who has no regard for justice or young girls or Doug Jones, the man who sought and got justice for 4 young girls.
