Republican Roy Moore is trailing Democrat Doug Jones by 12 points in the Alabama special Senate election, according to a poll conducted by the National Republican Senatorial Committee after five women accused Moore of pursuing them as teenagers.

There could be more than one reason this poll shows the Democrat so far ahead in Alabama. What do you think the reason is? Answer the poll.

I call busll**** on the poll. Most polls I've seen in that race have been a virtual coin flip.

A lot of young teens in Alabama voted in the poll. Teenagers aren't partisans.

As of only 2 days ago, the realclearpolitics average still had Moore up by a couple of points. I think this NRSC poll is a bit of an outlier.

You think maybe to pressure Moore into dropping out?

I think that most politicians won't rely on one poll to make a decision like that. Having said that, I think the fact that the average was only a couple of points in Moore's favor a few days ago (well within the margin of error) is pretty surprising in a state like Alabama. Alabama is deep, dark red.

It would not surprise me. The GOP is desperate. Moore is a big issue for them and yet another embarrassment for Trump.

Moore was a land mine to begin with. He may not be a lunatic but he has acted like one for decades. Shows you how hosed up Bannon is. Bannon is the lunatic. Moore is a result of Bannon's lunacy.

People who don't know the South often misjudge it.

My first wife was from Alabama. Most of her whole family is still there, I think. Except for Auburn people in Alabama will surprise you at times.

There are a lot of good people in Alabama. I'm fairly certain they don't cotton to kitty diddling. They may not be saying it to the world but I'm thinking they'll turn on Moore now that the accusations are beginning to make sense.

Not to mention the poll was with "registered voters". This close to an election, credible polls go with "likely voters". At least one "likely voters" poll gives Moore a shrunken, but still 7 point lead.

The US currently has a president who admittedly doesn't wait in order to run up and kiss, grab women. Presumably because he sees some women as bitches who like this kind of treatment. That guy won 62% of the Alabama votes. You know, the state that every other state makes incest jokes about? You guys think that a born & raised son of the state is going to lose an election against a Democrat, there? Lol. Y'all on something.

How did you feel about Bill Clinton?

Moore is not going to drop out because of a poll. I don't even think he ever looked at the polls. He knows any republican with a heartbeat can win in Alabama and if Moore wins the election. That statement is literally true!

What's more he's a hybrid trumpster/bannon-ite, he wouldn't have been able to last four years ago with a scandal like this, but today. Trumpsters eat this stuff up and spit it out like vomit.

I will not lie, to me the timing of all the accusations smelled of dirty politics, particularly an old democrat tactic called dirty tuesday, where any accusation can be made and it has enough time to ruin a candidate but not enough time to disprove the accusations, the dirty tueseday would occur usually one week from election but sometimes up to a month.

Whether you believe dirty politics are at play or not, I am probably one of the few who agrees with you on the gop being behind the character assassination. The gop tried the same with trump and ended up embracing him barely, and to this day a large amount of gop establishment oppose him. This seems less like democrats trying to push jones and more like the gop trying to stop moore at any costs, which can backfire badly on them. In my opinion they should hold him innocent until proven guilty, but hold official investigations on his alleged conduct. If he wins and they just vote to kick him out without any real due process, it will do to gop voters what hillary and the dnc did to dem voters, scare away a large portion of people who see it as corrupt and ignoring the will of the voters.

He banged a fat intern and lied about it, but probably left the underaged teens alone.

These Trumpets think stalking 14 year olds is the same as banging adult interns.

These are the last 3 polls that RCP show: This NRSC poll seems to be a poll McConnell instituted seeking a preferred result

Alabama Senate Special Election - Moore vs. Jones FOX 10/Strategy Research Moore 49, Jones 43 Moore +6
Alabama Senate Special Election - Moore vs. Jones Emerson Moore 55, Jones 45 Moore +10
Alabama Senate Special Election - Moore vs. Jones JMC Analytics* Moore 44, Jones 48 Jones +4

My opinion is that this is a tossup a nail biter 5D Sportsbook seems to agree, latest odds

US Senate - Alabama Special Election Winner
Thu 12/12 951 Roy Moore wins Alabama special election -110
9:00AM 952 Field wins Alabama special election -130

'McConnell takes a page out of the 'fake news’ playbook. A new poll commissioned by the National
Republican Senate Committee claiming Alabama Democrat Senate candidate
Doug Jones is leading Republican Judge Roy Moore by 12 points.

Even Statistician Nate Silver usually praised by left-wingers implies the numbers may have been manipulated to pressure Moore out of the race.
“I wouldn’t put much stock in that NRSC poll showing Moore way down, which presumably was “leaked” in order to get him out of the race,” tweeted Silver.

You really have to wonder about old Mitch McConnell. Steve Bannon must have gotten under his
skin in a big way. He is doing the most ridiculous things now. It's so blatant and obvious the
misinformation/manipulation attempt by McConnell in "leaking" a skewed NRSC poll.'

Sorry, cannot accept nor reject this poll because there is nothing to see except what Politico says about it.

This is tantamount to reporting that named sources report something that cannot be verified and is not supported by evidence. Come to think about it, this is right in line with ALL the stuff we've heard lately about Moore.

So why don't you tell us..... How did that work out for you?
