George Takei Accused of Sexually Assaulting Former Model in 1981

I just had a thought, could this be a publicity stunt to help a failing career? Other than an appearance on Big Bang Theory I haven't seen him in anything since Star Trek. Just wondering.

Not according to some of the people on here.
an accusation was made so it must be true.

Lets see if the normal morally outraged crowd comes out and tears him a new one.
Somehow i doubt it.

however if you want to follow the standard that they are using in these other cases
this guy is guilty as charged.

Many lefties on here claim that I am a biased partisan righty but I believe Takei on this one. It's really getting to be a sad society when people make these baseless unproven claims to destroy other people's lives for that 30 seconds of fame or for partisan politics.

Political correctness has run so amok that now a guy can't flirt with a woman or ask her out without being accused of unwanted sexual harassment.

Basically, everyone in Hollywood is screwing everyone. And they are the ones making the movies trying to get you daughters to do the same thing.

nope nope we have to use the same standard.

once accused it must be true therefore he is guitlty. there is no need for evidence or anything else.
he was accused that is all that is needed.

I agree.

I have known many gay men and women over the years. The only ones that bother me are the ones that have to push their agenda in your face. I have nothing but respect for Takei, and believe him also, over someone who is likely just making a story up.

I have little respect for people who wait decades to complain about such things, especially people who were adults at the time. sounds like the guy is a loser and 36 years later, he's having regrets over being a loser and wants someone to pay for it
 
Listen to what Takei says here, and imagine it's a guy talking about women. Especially with the creepy way Takei laughs about it.

I was ambivalent about the story until I heard this. Now I tend to believe it.

He may be. But if you want to work (or even eat lunch again) in Hollywood, the casting couch--and much worse--is too often the way. There are more stories yet to be told too. If, say, Keanu Reaves decided to speak up about his experience decades ago, would you be inclined to believe him? What about the wife of a prominent California politician who is considering doing the same after all these years?

I guess we're all going to have to decide on a case-by-case basis. What I find so extraordinary is the "floodgates" element of all this, which isn't limited to the U.S. This is a trend now. Some of what is being talked about now has been whispered about for years--e.g. the "Lolita Express" and Bryan Singer's infamous pool parties. But what all is driving this gush of accusations and confessions? Whatever the answer is, it isn't simple.
