Woman Fired For Flipping Off Donald Trump’s Motorcade

But Congressman Joe Walsh got cheers from right-wing nuts when he screamed "You Lie" at Obama during the State of the Union address.

There is no justice.
Huh?

Walsh isn't an employee. He's an elected official. His constituents decide whether or not he represents their views.

She's an employee. Her employer, like it or not, can fire her for incidents like this. She was in public, her privacy was not violated. Sorry, but yes, your employer can fire you for these kinds of activities.

It is unfortunate she was fired. She was on her own time and it isn't like she posted it online for the world to see.
True, but she was in public, and no expectation of privacy. It doesn't matter whom she was flipping off, her employer is well within their rights to fire any employee who engages in that type of activity.

I'm not saying the employer doesn't have the right, I am just saying it is unfortunate. We have all done things in public when we didn't think anyone was watching, let alone photographing, that we wouldn't want shared with the whole world. Social media can be a good thing but it has a dark side. Remember when you used to be able to do a silly thing like that and nobody would know? Good times.

Damn right Walsh got cheers, Obama was a consumate liar, he lied repeatedly. Dont blame the right or their reactions for Obama's lack of morality or ethics, thats on him.

As for this women losing her job ? Im sure if the tables were turned and she was flipping off Obama, the Left would have had no problem with her employer terminating her.

She's probbaly jusr another butthurt Hillary supporter who lacks the emotional maturity needed to handle a election loss with grace and dignity

Says the guy who blames the media for pointing out that Trump tells absurd lies every single day.

Good, I'm glad this un American POS got fired. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

Secondly, Congressman Joe Walsh was right.

Disliking the president is UNAMERICAN! You heard it here, folks.

Man, over the last eight years you have been the least American person on the planet.

She wasnt fired for her " political lean ". Stop being disengenuous.

I never said she was. Re-read what I actually said.

What if she was wearing a swastika arm band and was screaming "white power" while flipping off Obama? Should she be able to keep her job, then?

If she was on her own time and there was nothing to identify the company, then yes she should keep her job.

Not the same

Joe Walsh was calling Obama out on an actual deliberate calculated lies.

Briskman is just another brain dead Leftist who is pissed that: by President Trump improving America by every objective standard after the miserable failure of Obama totally destroys her political ideology / religion.

The First Amendment protects our freedom of speech from actions of the Govt not a private employer.

Can't argue with you on this one at all (though the Libbos thing makes you sound dumber than you are).

We live in the day and age when someone can get fired for demonstrating while wearing a swastika or going against company policy by writing MRA rants, when anything you do could end up going viral on social media, there's no reason to think that the Left would be any safer than the Right in this regard. I loved the pic, laughed like hell, and I imagine she felt pretty good doing it...hopefully it was worth the job, and I'm betting that there are any number of Left leaning organizations that saw the pick and felt the same that would hire her. If your boss wants to fire you for flipping Trump the bird, maybe it's time to consider a new place to work anyway, if you're so inclined.

That, or just doing your political ranting and raving anonymously on DP like the rest of us...hehe... ;)

You'll make friends fast calling people dumb. Funny how you never say anything when someone says "Trumpette". In fact, haven't you used that term, or some variant?

If one of your empmoyees attended a klan rally on his own time, would you fire him, or let him keep his job?

Meh...maybe...if I did, it was my bad, generally I try to avoid that nonsense. And I wasn't calling you dumb, read again. That was about as much of a compliment as we can expect from each other, I would imagine...hehe.. I mean, look at yourself, the planets align, there are three blue moons in the sky, they just started free skate in Hell, and I'm actually agreeing with you for once, and you decide to get all butthurt over a back handed compliment...lol... I never worry about the impact of what I say to you affecting our chances at friendship one way or the other. Was just saying you had a point, that's all, apdst. Now go on with your cranky self... ;)

I did read it. Maybe you should have read it before you posted it.

Do you people still wonder why you can't get anyone to come over to your side? LOL!

The internet is public. A road is public. Most things are these days.

Do not do anything in public that you do not want preserved forever.

I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings, apdst. I was saying that you're smart, but using words like "Libbos" makes you look dumb, that was the intended meaning behind what I wrote. I'm sorry if you misunderstood that. Hopefully the fact that it was said lightly while agreeing with your point will soften the blow somewhat.

And I actually don't wonder why I can't get anyone to come over to my side, as I haven't been actively recruiting, nor have I consciously defined a "side". But when I do, I'll keep your advice in mind. Maybe I can recruit you, and put you in charge of PR, so I can be the best recruiter I can be, with your help. Thank you. :)

Firing someone for doing something perfectly legal out of work hours which doesn't involve the company in any way is immoral and in most civilised countries, would be illegal.

When did corps start dictating what you can do in your own time?

What if the lady got caught in a picture flipping off an 80 year old lady in a wheel chair? Its legal but then again so is firing someone for almost no reason or any reason except those reasons that are protected.

If one of your empmoyees attended a klan rally on his own time, would you fire him, or let him keep his job?

Because flipping the bird is equal to attending a klan rally.

If they were not dealing with members of the public, not publicly representing the company, and not causing conflict with other members of staff, then no. Of course I live in a country where employees actually have rights and safeguards.

It may be legal to fire for any reason in your country (well some states), but it's not moral and nor would it be legal in most developed nations.
