The Infantilization of the President

So in a nutshell, you are saying we are trapped, and should not try to change course for the sake of the next generation?

Of course not. I am saying this was like trading in an car in need of serious repairs for an untamed kangaroo expecting it to carry a family of 4. Bernie Sanders may not be everyone's cup of tea politically, but he's a serious politician with an attention span. If Donald Trump does only one thing right, it will hopefully be helping reform agenda politician recognize there is a strong appetite for them. Secondly, change ultimately needs to start in Congress because its the incentive structure of our government that needs to be shifted back towards governing for the people, not the oligarchic class, which the President can't do. Any President elected on a major reform agenda is going to be stymied by Congress even if they don't tweet out insanities and cause constant chaos.

Yeah, sure. How about Canada?
A Canadian civil war, of any type, would be amusing. But its not likely to happen any time soon.
Our biggest concern is the refugees PM Pixey-Dust is inviting here. That has to be stopped.

But seriously, what kind of gun laws do you think we should have to alleviate the danger to the republic? And what do you mean by the republic? The government?
I mean the nation as a whole.
And I don't know if modern gun laws would or even could be upheld in the USA.
But this war on Donny, has emboldened all the wrong sorts of people, and I think it might be a good idea to give all the people of both sides, something real to fight against. That may sound calloused but...its a calloused world.

There is almost zero chance of repealing the 2nd amendment, people just will not give up their rights to government. Since the Constitution was ratified, government has done nothing but reinforce the need for it to remain in place, as politicians prove over and over that they are not working in our best interests.

I know that. I've debated, adnosium, with Americans about this.
I can't understand it, because its never been a part of my life.

So whatdya do...keep firearms on the premise that someday you may have to go to war...against your own government?
You get that this has been tried before? The only way a militia can hope to defeat the US armed forces, is to have control of the US armed forces.
Anyway...

Accepting that this culture of guns is permanent, and getting back to the subject, why should Donny even pay this question of gun control, lip-service?
Were I advising him right now, I'd say, "Donny...don't touch this one with a ten foot pole! DO NOT ENGAGE!!!"

The democrat's are at war with the POTUS. That is a fact.
Knowing this, it shouldn't be too hard to make them look like fools. Especially when we've all seen what the street-level face of this war looks like.

Ironically, the need to "go to war" against your own government would most likely be against the type of government that would take away your right to defend yourself with a gun. So, the people have guns? Then they're likely on the same page with the government.

Those dictatorial government types, first thing they do is take away guns, free speech and press, and limit your mobility. The kind of country you have to escape from. Not a good situation.

Agreed.
And who is it that want to take your guns, and freedom of speech?

I find it hilarious that the very people who profess things like compassion and equality, are acting with none of the above...

DumboCrats.

We're all going to look back at this Presidency and say WTF were we thinking!

Those of us who could not vote for him already know the answer to that question. Those who voted for him were extremely credulous, and not for the first time in history, fell for empty emotional promises.

This country has been desperate for real leadership for years, and desperation transfers to voting for scam artists.

The problem is our President is moving too fast and getting what needs to be done...done.
No president in our time will have a broad fan base as sophomoric ranker continues.
It's part of the job.
I can understand if it was this dude we had for president, the worst ever.
Our President Trump should be given a better chance...he's only starting.
