The Worldwide Leader did not elaborate on her offending tweet, and Hill has not tweeted since 11 a.m. Eastern on Monday. However, on Sunday she appeared to suggest fans boycott Cowboys advertisers if they were upset Jerry Jones told his players they would stand for the national anthem or be benched.

ESPN suspends Jemele Hill for social media ‘violation’ | New York Post

She deserved to be fired a long time ago. She's a liability for ESPN.

... DeMaurice Smith says NFL players must be granted the right to protest on the field. (J. SCOTT APPLEWHITE/AP)
NFL Players' Association president DeMaurice Smith on Monday blasted owners throughout the league who will not allow players to kneel during the national anthem as a form of protest against police brutality and social injustice.

Smith released a statement, which was a not-so-subtle shot at Cowboys owner Jerry Jones — who revealed on Sunday that his players would be benched should they not stand during the national anthem.

"Last week, both the Commissioner and the Chair of NFL Management Council John Mara were clear when they assured our union leaders, in the presence of other owners, that they would respect the Constitutional rights of our members without retribution," Smith's statement read. ...

looks like the players union received assurance from the NFL that the players could exercise their right without fear of retaliation
appears some owners did not get the message

The NFL owners know what's best for business. They are understanding what Trump already knew.

These NFL players will fall in line as well otherwise they will see a reduction in their salary like Mrs. Hill just received.

Trump is in the ears of many of the NFL owners. They initially defended the players but are coming to their senses now.

Selective outrage.

What happened to the cries of "freedom of speech" from deplorables. Oh, right, that's only for racist actions and statements.

I don't think she should have been fired, but...what happened the claim that free speech doesn't mean free from concequences from the Leftists? Hasn't that been to go-to response for a long time, now.

I wonder how she ever got a position on the network in the first place. I doubt that show had a viwership
worth bragging about.

Hard to believe a independent Black Women could get hired for anything eh?

Looks like some of the owners are excercing their rights. I'm sure the double standard will kick in any moment, now.

The Owners will soon run up against the PLayers Union....They'll be sorry for that...So far that Jack Ass Jerry Jones has spoken out

The player's uniin will cease to exist if the NFL goes out of business.

And the players union will get severely crushed.

The players tried to do this in 2011 and they folded like a cheap tent.

NFL players aren't willing to go on strike. Most of them do not know how to handle their money well enough to survive without 1-2 paychecks.

And what can the union do if a player gets benched for a game?

Translation=Black People can'y handle success or wealth....They should Katow to their White Owners

actually, it appears the representative of the NFL made a commitment to the union representative
- that the owners would not retaliate against players who protested during the national anthem
that the owners would subsequently respond differently than what their representative conveyed to the union appears to be a potential violation of labor laws
going to be fun to watch this play out
could be a substantial financial windfall for the union

Keep Dreaming.....LOL

The player's union has as much money on the line as the NFL. When their dues start shrinking, they'll start telling the players, "Hey fellas...enough's enough".

There was no contractual agreement not to punish the kneelatards. The union can't do anything but call a strike and that would be suicide.

Not speaking about just blacks, but I am assuming the majority of NFL players are not very savvy with their money or setting themselves up well for life after football.

Go work at Wendy's and start giving the "raised fist" to customers and see how long your ass stays employed.

wendy's employees have a union that was told they could engage in such protest when they were not later allowed to do so?
please share your link

Did the owners sign a contract saying they wouldn't punish players for misconduct? If there wasn't, the union is talking out of it's ass.

media indicates the owners' representative told the union representative that the players would face no retaliation for engaging in protest
are you of the opinion that the owners are able to mislead the players' union and get away with it?

Every job comes with rules. Those rules are set by the company.
