First-hand Account in Puerto Rico

It sure is easy to talk about what what you think should have been done. Tell me, where do you land planes for your "Berlin Airlift" when the airports are destroyed? I know that little issue escapes you but from the time they've had the airport runways cleared planes have been landing around the clock. Ships have been docking and unloading so many containers that some of the perishables have been rotting in the port. You are aware that these career FEMA managers were on long before President Trump took office. These contingency plans, they also predate his administration. The president's job was to authorize the operation. He did it.

But you just keep posting petty, Trump hate posts.
The planes during Truman's Berlin Airlift didn't land. They dropped provisions from the air.

Sorry, you can't push the failure down to the local FEMA manager and indemnify Trump. There is something Harry Truman said,

When a president cares, instead of caring about a photo-op, he/she makes sure that everyone responsible is doing as much as possible and then gets whatever resources are necessary mobilized. That's what we call leadership, which was lacking in this effort.

Oh, I get it. You want to say that the President doesn't care about Puerto Rico. You want to try and berate him because the response isn't what you think that it should be. You know that sign is a wonderful one. It's really too bad that last man to sit in the office, you know, President "I'm not responsible for anything" Obama didn't believe in it.

I have no idea where you got your notion and quote about Obama. Obama was pretty much hands-on during Hurricane Sandy and mobilized all necessary forces.

Trump has no sincere concern for the PR victims and it shows.

I get that you hate Trump, but he's the President. You can't change that. Your hatred toward him is obvious. No matter what he does, you are still going to hate him, but he'll still be the president.

How I feel about Trump is irrelevant to what the anyone watching would view his lack of performance, especially during the disaster in PR.
If Trump's efforts weren't so bad they wouldn't be sanitizing the websites of anything but good news.

President Trump and his administration are doing a fine job handling the mess that the liberals on Puerto Rico caused with their utter unpreparedness for any type of emergency.

I know, blame the liberal victims.

Only according to Trump's cult that can see no fault with him -- ever.

Your review is not universal, however. According to a new Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research poll, just one-third of Americans approve of the president's response in the wake of the storm.

About a third. Trump has a loyal following of cultists totaling about a third too.

No, the US -and British - planes that supplied Berlin during the great air-lift most certainly did land. At the time I saw numerous newsreels and heard many interviews with British pilots on the wireless (as the radio was then called).

Imo the US should take better care of its colony Puerto Rico. It might even have made it a State, like before I was there in 1965.

I stand corrected. Then the priority should have been to have all the PR airports clear and able to accept planes.

I am sorry that they were blatantly unprepared. It isn't like they lived in an area known for hurricanes or on an island or something like that. Oh wait, they do. Failure to plan is planing to fail. All 27 mayors and the governor of Puerto Rico should tender their resignations after this is resolved.
