Pence’s chief of staff floats ‘purge’ of anti-Trump Republicans to wealthy donors

This is true but what policy are you talking about? The TrumpCare "plan" was simply to let congress critters deal with the details of how to repeal (nope, can't do that w/o 60 votes in the Senate) and replace (hmm... isn't that just rename now?) PPACA. A conservative can and should object to simply renaming (fixing?) ObamaCare as TrumpCare - if you cannot repeal it then you cannot replace it.

Like Trump said, Congress has been planning to repeal and replace Obamacare for 7 years. Why shouldn't he think they're are ready to go?

One of the few things i take President Trump's side on. Republicans acted like Obamacare was the plague and that only they had the cure. It's not entirely President Trump's fault that he believed them.

If you think there is any way for the Republicans to lose control of the Senate, I challenge you to post it. Tell us which seats that they will pick up without losing any seats. Keep in mind they need a +3. There are only 8 Republican seats up and 25 Democrat controlled seats. This will be fun.

If they pass TrumpCare then wait and see.

That was simply BS most of the time - once 16 red states took the Medicaid expansion bribe then repeal was off the table and replace would be at best to rename PPACA with a few "fixes".

Boy you're just all over the place aren't you? I mean you hardly bitched about Obama, but lambasted Bush on a daily basis; and now you're pretending to tell us who the real Republicans are. :doh

Welcome back to one of my threads, Mr. Hit and Run Snarkmaster. LOL.

BTW, this thread isn't about me. Do try to keep up.

In my very honest opinion, those Republicans who are anti-Trump are the real Republicans here.

Vice President Mike Pence’s chief of staff railed against congressional leaders in closed-door remarks to wealthy donors and called for a “purge” if GOP lawmakers don’t quickly rally behind President Donald Trump’s agenda.

Sounds like VP Pence is labeling some Republicans as Deplorables™

:rofl

Pence is going to California to beg for money this week...I imagine he'll be met with protesters .....Good

He's not a lifelong politician or a party hack. His being an outsider is what got him elected.

If you want Division in your country, you elected the right guy. If you want somebody who cannot work with the House and the Senate, you've elected the right guy. If you want somebody who is going to frictionalize relationships with his advisors and cabinet, you've elected the right guy. If you want the Great Divider - you've got it.

A simple change of the rules and only 50 + 1 will be required.

Be careful what you wish for.

(Also, it would be very interesting if I could peer into a parallel universe where the Democrats did that and see what conservatives now suggesting it were saying. If I had to guess, I'd guess they'd be utterly outraged).

Yep, but then the republicants have no excuse left - which is why that will not happen. Congress critters now enjoy a re-election rate of over 90% - they will not change anything much so long as that is the case.

Well, more importantly, they'd eat crow when the Democrats regain power, which is a question of when not whether. The parties have always ebbed and flowed. The GOP would have to be unimaginably short-sighted to push that rule through now thinking it a long-term benefit. What it would most likely do is create even more chaotic seesaw changes in American law.

It would be a good thing if Ayers gets this done, but I won't hold my breath. The wealthy donors are the ones keeping the anti-Trump guys in power.

That's a good one, mate. With Carl Icahn as special advisor, the wealthy donors, and Trump's buddies, are laughing all the way to the bank.

Ummm...perhaps you haven't heard...Icahn stepped down as special advisor months ago.

Since you didn't know about that, tell me what you know about wealthy donors...

Who is the Chamber of Commerce donating their money to?

Who are the unions donating their money to?

Who are the multinational corporations donating their money to?

In the tradition of Manafort and Roger Stone, become visible through presidency of local college/young republicans, move up the food chain creating and marketing the product....republican
candidates for office.....use them as fund raising vehicles, create businesses that bill their campaigns and local, state, national republican committees, and funnel an appreciable chunk of the proceeds
into your personal accounts, preferably offshore....and call it draining the swamp!

Well, I didn't bother to read all the links you gave. I'll leave it to you to answer this question.

This issue here isn't whether a GOP Congressman or a Trump admin member is a degenerate or whether they've done some "bad" things in the past. The issue is whether the GOP person is working for the people who put them in their position...the voters, in the case of Congressmen and Pence, in the case of Ayers...or whether they are working for lobbyists and donors who line their pockets. Based on what you quoted, I don't see anything about Ayers being influenced by donors and lobbyists and, based on the OP's link, Ayers is actually working AGAINST people (like some GOP Elites in Congress) who are doing just that.

So here's my question: Do you have any evidence that Ayers is doing the same thing as the people he is speaking out against?

They need to purge the party of Trump and Pence

This idea from the Pence camp has all the hallmarks of one trying to jam their tongue even further up the rear cavity of the boss to curry his favor and get a more loving pat on the head.

In case you have been living in a cave, Trump IS the swamp.

I still take issue with comparing beautiful wetlands with the toxic holding tank in Washington.

It's not a swamp, swamps should never be drained ( only unethical developers would think they should).

Septic tanks on the other hand should be emptied often.

And don't forget the Donald did not like the drain the swamp catch phrase to begin with, he only embraced it after it caught on.

The arrogance. Calling for a party purge of democratically elected representatives if they don't fall in line. What about the constituents who voted for them? Are they just chopped liver?

He sounds like the member of a communist party with a mccarthy fixation.

That was exactly my take from his comments. He had NOTHING to say about the good of the country or the constituents, only loyalty to trump, and his agenda to continue to make the rich richer.
