Live Stream - Trump in Phoenix

Only 500 protesters is a triumph? I suppose. 500 at an Obama speech would have been, too, to the right. Cup woulda been half-full then, that's half-empty now.

I don't know what the 'Flake/Ward primary' is. If I get the time and inclination together, I'll give it a google.

Oh, what the heck, I've got a few minutes. Jeff Flake is a sitting GOP Senator from Arizona. In his upcoming midterm he is being primaried by Dr. Kelli Ward. In United States politics, a president can use his pulpit to endorse candidates. One of the main reasons the President revisited Arizona last night was to begin his campaign in support of Dr. Ward and against Jeff Flake. I watched the entire rally last night. At no time did the president mention either McCain, Flake, or Ward, but everybody in that room knew where he stood and it appeared by the rounds of applause that they agreed.

I'm not being critical of your understanding of American politics, but for all the time you spend ankle biting our process, it would seem to me your time would be better served studying the nuances. Several senate seats will go to the GOP side of the aisle in 2018. With a change in the filibuster/cloture motion rules, the ruling party will be able to advance their agendas per the wishes of the electorate. Stop sniping us and start actually learning about us. There will be many more campaign style rallies. They serve many valuable purposes. Listening to the pouting and sulking here at DP is counter-productive.

I hope this finds you well and in good spirits.

No doubt about Trump's support for Ward and also the crowd's support. It will be really interesting to see how things change in AZGOP circles once the McCain influence is gone. If Trent Franks can corral most of that support we'll be in the best shape since Goldwater.

You, my friend, have knocked that one out of the park. The Trent Franks introduction last night was not for his friends in the audience, but for a National audience. My friend from Canada can learn a lot about the real process of American grass roots politics by watching Donald J. Trump. There is a lot more to a building than the facade.

Googled it.
Looks almost like it's between Trump and McCain, not Flake and Ward, and also looks like Ward has a comfortable lead.
If Ward wins an ugly campaign, will that help the Democrat? Trump's already making with the attack-campaign tweets. McCain has some support- if Trump alienates them for the sake of getting Ward nominated, will that make the McCain faction sit out the election? In other words, is Trump willing to lose the seat for the sake of Flake not winning it? He (Trump) might think another Democrat is preferable to another McCain Republican.
Time will tell...

Ward is to the right of flake, to the right of Trump....and is a bagger. She put her foot in her mouth when she DEMANDED that McCain step down immediately after his diagnosis...which caused a bit of consternation within the AZ GOP. If she knocks off Flake in the primary, it would be very good for AZ Dems, since the election will be decided by Independents....they are not going to support a bagger who favors Trump. Even Flake has been trying to distance himself from the toxicity of Cheeto, even while he has a 93% voting record in favor of Cheeto policies.

President Donald Trump may not have written a $10 million check to find a Republican to defeat Arizona Sen. Jeff Flake, but his supporters now seem to be joining the fray.

Two former members of a super PAC supportive of Trump have joined Kelli Ward's Senate campaign, according to a statement from Ward issued Friday. Earlier in the week, Robert Mercer, a key Trump backer, also donated $300,000 to a super PAC supportive of Ward.

Good post. Thank you.

Allow me to try to persuade you to see things a bit differently. Let's take the democrats entirely out of the equation for the time being. The mid terms aren't until Nov. 6, 2018. We are still in August of 2017. Thousand of people who are living today will be dead in a year. Thousands more won't remember what happened to them the day before.

In politics, it's best to frame one battle at a time. If you frame 10 battle and determine that you can fight all ten successfully, that's fine. If you can only fight two successfully, then that is the limit. The idea is to be successful. Right now, one of the President's main battles is the re-unification of the Republican/Conservative party. He takes as his mandate, the job of re-unifying the party as the PEOPLE have said it shall be done. You know what his voters want; jobs, the wall, a strong military, lower taxes, etc. If he has RINO senators standing in his way, he is left with no other choice but to replace them. Hence, the support for Dr. Ward. Don't believe that the "Trump/McCain" matter is significant. If McCain's brain cancer takes him next week, the Arizona governor, who is a Republican, will appoint a Republican replacement. Enter one Trent Franks.

We, as Republicans/Conservatives don't give one tiny little turd what the democrats are doing right now. They are self destructing in such new, creative ways, that all we want to do is sit and watch them crash. OUR job is to reassemble the HEART of the Party and the heart of the movement.

As I said, there will be many more rallies. Each rally will be in a specific target state where the president will stand up for the PEOPLE and not the politicians. That is called "strategic planning" and there are trusted staffers working all day, every day, on that one thing. There are many senate seats which will fall to the Republican column because of the President's uncanny ability to connect with his people. In point, WE will follow him. Why? Because he is a leader.

Peace!

Luck.

Friends who went to the "campaign rally" sent my wife a short video from inside the convention center. There were so few people there it looked like a Hillary event.

We watched the after events on a local Phoenix channel. A couple of people yelled and shoved. That was about it except for some tear gas. The cops were bored. You know chunking a little tear gas had to break the monotony for both sides.

There weren't many Nazi signs and I didn't see any KKK uniforms or signs. Most of the "protesters" on TV were people in their teens and early 20s. It seemed like quite a number of them were females. Also there was a smattering of old fat guys probably hoping to hook up with one of the young ladies which no doubt didn't happen.

So far I think there was one arrest.

The crowd was really just assing around looking for laughs. In fact the crowd was so polite I'm fairly certain Trump had them shipped in from Canada.

Its August in Phoenix, we are all tired from a long hot summer, and standing outside in 108 will do that for ya.

She has a few nicknames here, "Chemtrail Kelly" and "Mental Ward", she got destroyed when she ran against McCain. She will fail like JD "Oaf" Hayward did when he ran for senator. Their support is a mile wide and an inch deep.

Yes it will. Cooler weather is coming. Not tomorrow, of course but by late October it'll be nice.

I know it is early, and what you say is true...but..Flake isn't the Mav, and the polling so far is not good:

PHOENIX (August 22, 2017) — A statewide Arizona survey of 400 likely Arizona 2018 General Election voters shows Republican incumbent Senator Jeff Flake fourteen points behind his primary Republican opponent Kelli Ward and eight points behind prospective Democratic opponent U.S. Congresswoman Kyrsten Sinema (D, AZ-9).

Polls were similar when mental ward ran against McCain, she got crushed. When people find out how much of a whack-a-doodle she is, she quickly drops. Sinema would beat the snot out of her, she is sharp.

Trump claimed 15000 in attendance, in a venue with less than a third of that capacity.
