Some Liberty Univ. Grads Returning Diplomas To Protest Trump, Jerry Falwell Jr. : NPR

A group of alumni from one of the country's most influential evangelical Christian universities is condemning their school's president for his continued alignment with President Trump.

A small but growing number of Liberty University graduates are preparing to return diplomas to their school. The graduates are protesting university President Jerry Falwell Jr.'s ongoing support for Trump. They began organizing after Trump's divisive remarks about the deadly white supremacist protests in Charlottesville, Va.
 
Stupid. They can give back those pieces of paper all that they want. But I'll bet that they will still list that school as having graduated from on a job application. Nothing more than show, no substance.

Also should note that maybe they should re-attend school if they think that Trump doing the right thing, condemning everyone that committed violence, was the wrong thing to do. I just hope that they pick a school that teaches them critical thinking skills. Many seem to lack that in today's political atmosphere.

Liberty University is in Virginia, and I think this is a sensitive topic for Virginians. They have the 4th highest number of hate groups in the US, behind heavily-populated Texas, CA, and Florida. Consequently, I think they have more exposure.
 
What was 'stupid' was those ****ing morons adopting the leftist bull**** that the condemnation of Antifa must somehow equate to a defense of nazis. I'm AMAZED at how many stupid ****ers believe that and how many parrot it. But those people should absolutely stand by their words and completely have their diplomas rescinded and invalidated.

What is really scary is that university kids are so driven by propaganda. You would think that that group would be more widely informed.

Just goes to show you what kind of gutter the current generation of graduates is living in.

I hope they lose those credentials permanently, for such a lack of respect for their school, and its professor.

Can't they just oppose it without throwing their diplomas away? I think this is foolish. Those graduates turned back their 4 years of hardship just for their school president's choice of candidacy? Those graduates believe they can live a life for political opinion? There are so much in life than these political arguments.

In addition, the university president and the school leaders should do something about this. As an educator, they must lead their students whenever they are off course.
 
It's really weird to watch the same people who would defend Liberty "University" for teaching Young Earth Creationism, and force students to attend speeches performed by the likes of Ted Cruz. Now suddenly attack the alumni who, to their credit are consistent in their religious beliefs and condemn someone who is so antithetical to their beliefs like Trump.

With that said, the school is a sham, and the alumni wasted their time taking courses in LU's fake science courses. But props to them for at least not being hypocrites.

How many are in this group of alumni returning their diplomas? I didn't see a number in the article so it might just be the three people they quoted. Either way its more grandstanding and virtue signaling than anything else.

Lol ! First, Trumps Charlottesville comments were right on the money, there was nothing offensive about them.

ANTIFA and BLM and the Workers world party ARE violent, and were attacking and assaulting Trump supporters and or anyone they disagreed with long before Charlotresville.

But this isnt really about offensive comments, because the motivations behind all the selective outrage is purely Political

The Democrats and their supporters and the media saw Charlottesville as a opportunity to conflate Trump and ALL his supporters and the Right wing in general with " Nazi's "

They may as well return their diplomas. They're not worth the cost of the ink on em'. Isn't even accredited and the only place one could get a job with that "diploma" is Ken Hams dinosaur creation museum.

Unfortunately, Georgia has 32 hate groups. Surprisingly enough, we're behind Ohio in numbers, so I think I can live with that.

Interestingly enough, it appears that Alaska is hate free. I guess they have to preserve the energy they would expend on protests and fights to get through their winter hibernation.

Considering that one of the individuals cited is a director at Randolph College in Va and the other is a practicing attorney that has argued cases in front of the 9th Circuit Court, I'd say her Liberty University degree did its job. It would be fun comparing the credentials of some of their graduates with the individuals denigrating the University.

That (bolded above) problem has an easy solution - simply have LU honor the request and purge their database. When that potential employer checks with LU to see if Johnny or Jane really did graduate then LU can tell them "no, our records show that no such student has graduated from here, in fact, our records show that they never attended LU at all". ;)
