'Take a Sledgehammer to It': 2 Bill Clinton Accusers Want SD Statue to Come Down | Fox News Insider

Two women who accused former President Bill Clinton of sexually assaulting them said it is time for his South Dakota statue to be destroyed.

In the wake of factions calling for the destruction of Confederate statues following violence in Charlottesville, Va., accusers Juanita Broaddrick and Paula Jones see Clinton as just as oppressive.

Broaddrick, 74, told the American Mirror that Clinton's statue in Rapid City is a symbol of an "abhorrent and morally deficient" president.

She said Clinton raped her inside a Little Rock, Ark. hotel in 1978.

"I would like to personally use a sledgehammer on it, with the help of Kathleen Willey and Paula Jones," she said of the statue. "Bill Clinton is abhorrent and morally deficient to say the least."

She said left-wing groups that often stand up for women's rights continue to ignore her allegations against the Democrat.

Bill Clinton is a serial sexual predator, and yet everyone who walks by his statue has to be reminded that even the eyes in his life like statue is undressing you as he ponders how to get you alone for a few minutes. Women should not have to be insulted by this image, and the statue should be torn down and destroyed.

So now the right is in favor of getting rid of statues and "erasing history" as many of you put it? So you agree with me and many others that we need better role models and that once you put a statue somewhere it doesn't mean it has to stay there until the end of time.

Over time society's heroes and values change, and with that so does its statues and murals.

Key word here: "accused."

Note the difference between that word and convicted.

In his world even being accused of a crime is on the same level as the institutional enslavement of their fellow human beings. They couldn't pin a crime on either Clinton so they have to fantasize and fabricate their own stories.

It's about the statues and people who are offended by the person and character it represents.

No. It's about statues of the leaders and heroes of a rebel nation which fought against the USA in order to perpetuate slavery versus a statue of a two term US president who was accused of horrible things but never charged or convicted of any of them.

But, do continue with the false equivalency. I very much enjoy seeing how the minds of those defending the Confederacy operate.

The difference is that Bill Clinton was president of the US and Gen. Lee was a traitor. Only one statue deserves to exist.

The two women offended by Clinton's statue are probably getting paid to be offended.

Sorry you are offended. You are defending a rapist.

I don't believe the civil war generals were ever convicted. Leave them up.

Having confederate statues around is a bit like having statues of Saddam Hussein and Ho Chi Minh. They're foreigners that fought against the US. Bill Clinton on the other hand was actually the president of our country.

Although on a side note I wouldn't care if it got tore down because I don't think statues have to stay in place until the end of time. Things change and society evolves.

So now we're gonna go after murals?

Sure, murals aren't sacred. If society decides we no longer value certain murals and statues they can be replaced with new ones that better represent our values.

No, but they did commit treason and waged war against the United States.

Sorry you are offended. You are defending a rapist.

If there was actual proof that Clinton was a rapist, he's be toast right now. And, you know it. Hell, even Ken Star said there was not there there.

That they fought for a rebel nation against the USA is not in doubt.

I'm just going to go ahead and say that I really don't care if they remove a Clinton statue. Honestly, America has an extreme problem when it comes to idolizing people with power. It's really creepy.

Let's just take down all of the statues of famous people, past and present. Let's erase the history books while we're at it, and start over. We could create a new world, one in which the past is mutable, when it is whatever the current population wants it to be. Think of it: No more racist past, no past wars, humans have always lived in peace and harmony. All men have always been equal, we've always been allies with Oceania. It would be a whole new world order.

No student would flunk history.

I don't think history needs to be erased. We need these histories for society to learn by. And it would be great if those lessons enhance our civility.

Statues are usually memorials to honor the person that the statue represents. I'm pretty sure that there's no memorials honoring Hitler, Stalin, Saddam Hussein, etc still standing. As you said, not every statue merits being in public display forever. And for a variety of reasons.

But while we're talking about Bill Clinton, he certainly lacked some morals when it came to women, but he didn't hold them hostage and force them into involuntary servitude. He was never convicted of rape. He didn't make his home state's economy revolve around involuntary servitude when he was governor.

So to conflat Bill Clinton's sexual conduct with Confederate/State leaders in the south (slave states) who supported the suppression of human beings and involuntary servitude, who were memorialized - it is damn interesting in the number of people who defend still honoring these folks. And it appears it's a lot more than just the KKK, Neo-Nazis, and White Nationalist Groups.

But I'd have no problem with Clinton statues being removed. Why? His sexual conduct aside. He was an impeached president. There's no honor in that.

I hope over time our heroes and values change. If they don't our society will digress into multiple minority groups vying for power. We're almost there now.

I think all text books should be on line. Much easier to change to fit today's version of history and language.

Different topic, different post. Probably different thread.

It foils false equivalency attempt by the op, i.e. Clinton statue no different than those of Confederate rebels. An equivalency which, of course, makes absolutely no sense. Hence, why it is false.
