2 police officers fatally shot in Kissimmee, officials say

KISSIMMEE, Fla. —
Two police officers have been shot and killed in Kissimmee, authorities say.

The shooting happened in the area of Palmway and Cypress around 9:30 p.m. on Friday. The circumstances surrounding the shooting are unknown.

Orange County mayor Teresa Jacobs tweeted that both officers had died.

"Heartbreaking loss of two of Kissimmee's finest officers. Please join in prayers for families, friends, and law enforcement," Jacobs said.

Don't worry, the increased overtime pay will be offset be fewer on-duty trips to Krispy Kreme.

Being referred to as an ambush-style attack by some media.

No one with any sense has ever claimed being armed as an absolute defense against attack, especially ambush/assassination.


Just that in many scenarios it gives you a chance you may not otherwise have had.
 
The cops who were shot were probably good cops too. You hear a lot about cops shooting people, and police brutality, but some people don't realize that 99 out of 100 cops are good guys who are doing a thankless job that nobody else would want to do. We only hear about the bad 1 percent, and that sometimes can skew our thinking. Statistically speaking, these were good cops that lost their lives. When cops get shot, we don't need to politicize it. They need our prayers.

Yep. Its almost like twisted ****s have been going out of their way to post sensationalized hatred towards cops with the intent of inflaming hatred towards 'the cops', not giving much of a **** about the fact that they would be putting the 99 at risk because of the 1.

My bet is that there will be NO conversation anywhere about certain policies and laws, such as our amazingly counterproductive drug policy, which contribute to resentment and hostility towards police by citizens.

Some things get talked about, others not.
