Jared Kushner added more than 100 names to his list of foreign contacts in updated se

Re: Jared Kushner added more than 100 names to his list of foreign contacts in update

Like Jasper, you fail to read the words posted and understand their meaning.

I never claimed that a security clearance wasn't either necessary or important. I simply stated, factually, that an incomplete form submitted by Kushner was not going to jeopardize his being hired by the President - he has the job and will continue to have the job as long as Trump is President. The Secret Service will, in all likelihood, continue to seek additional information on contacts for an ongoing review of his clearance but unless you can point out otherwise, I'm pretty sure the President can overrule any problems or concerns that may arise from a less than complete form.

And to be clear, the above was provided in response to Jasper claiming that an "ordinary" person wouldn't get the job or would be fired if they were involved in such a situation. I simply pointed out that Kushner is not an "ordinary" person in this regard.

OK, so your defense is daddy in law=POTUS means there are no rules. Great. Nice defense.

I get what you're saying, John. Jared is special, indeed. In fact he may be so special that he is privileged with being above the law.

At the juncture, i guess it all boils down to, in Trump world, at the whim of any setting president, he or she should possess the power to alter national security protocol. Kind of like the ease with which a president can undo a previous president's executive orders.

As it now stands, because Trump and his family are so special, so outside the scope of ordinary folks, a precedence can now be written in stone that when one is a relative of an unethical president, why in the hell should we expect an ethical actions by such a president - to uphold the procedures, protocols, laws, etc related to acquiring a high-level security clearance.

Yep, I get it.....

What would be the point of holding anyone legally responsible for anything that doesn't comply with national security requirements - if the president has the power to negate the means to hold people responsible and accountable for mismanaging extremely sensitive information?

God save the President ..... :2usflag::2usflag::2usflag::2usflag:

You mentioned the criminal code:

The U.S. Criminal Code (title 18, section 1001) provides that knowingly falsifying or concealing a material fact is a felony which may result in fines and/or up to five (5) years imprisonment. In addition, Federal agencies generally fire, do not grant a security clearance, or disqualify individuals who have materially and deliberately falsified these forms, and this remains a part of the permanent record for future placements. Your prospects of placement or security clearance are better if you answer all questions truthfully and completely. You will have adequate opportunity to explain any information you provide on this form and to make your comments part of the record.

But didn't our POTUS say he would pardon him. Does the felony charge stay on his record, if he is pardoned?

The Kushner/Russia story is all but DOA!
The democrats and media is scrambling to stir
up something else to demonize the Trump administration.

As the date of the Kushner testimony approached, the media thought it was going to advance and refresh the story. But Kushner’s clear, precise and convincing account of what really occurred during the campaign and after the election has left many of President Trump’s loudest enemies trying to quietly back out of the room unnoticed.

Cable news airtime and in-print word count dedicated to the nonexistent collusion story appear to be dwindling. Democrats and their allies in the media seem less eager to talk about it, and when they do, they say something to the effect of “but, but, but … Kushner didn’t answer every question … He wasn’t under oath … There are still more witnesses … What about this or that new gadfly?” They are stammering. And it hasn’t taken long for news producers and editors to realize that the story is fading.

At last, the story that never was is not happening.

How do you forget about 100 foreign contacts and not report them on form 86?

Jerad Kushner asked the Russian ambassador for a private secure line to the Kremlin, and the Ambassador was caught on wiretap mentioning that conversation.

Does anyone know if Jerad Kushner still has a security clearance? I don't know what he's even doing in the White House.

When your world is business you do not remember everyone of your contacts. Looks like he pulled out his contact list and put down what he had.

That's a pretty pathetic defense - he's lazy and incompetent. Of course, it could be true, and there aren't a whole lot of better options to explain how a guy just 'forgets' meetings that are backed by emails and presumably entries on his calendar and are with Russian interests who were big time in the news at that point.

BTW, business people are different than others with regard to what/who they can remember? Never heard this theory..

You're talking about over 100 people. If someone remembers that many, good for them. Excellent memory. Not the usual though.

No one expects them to fill out the form by "memory" alone. This is 2017. We have computer stuff, electronics. He's got a calendar, email, text messages, staff. We can review every call we've made on our phones, review every message left on them. Any person not an idiot or reckless or lazy refers to all of that to complete the form, so they will get it right. Or, if you're lazy and/or incompetent, you half ass it and rely on daddy in law to smooth over your careless mistakes.

Besides, it takes a person more gullible than I am to believe Kushner or anyone else in the Trump orbit "forgets" about meetings with the Russians given what was going on with the news at that time. Those contacts had been front and center in the news for months, and if meeting/talking with high level officials makes such a small impression on you that you forget it mere weeks later, you've got serious cognitive issues.

When you apply for NATIONAL SECURITY CLEARANCE you better know who you met with with, dates and times--but the FBI will be knocking on doors to investigate the form you filled out. If you lied on the form, which Kushner clearly did, you don't get National Security Clearance.

What the Trump campaign still hasn't realised is that they were being watched since 2015, and not by U.S. Intelligence sources. Which is why they can't even pull off a secret meeting with Russians in the Trump tower.

GCHQ first became aware in late 2015 of suspicious “interactions” between figures connected to Trump and known or suspected Russian agents, a source close to UK intelligence said. This intelligence was passed to the US as part of a routine exchange of information, they added.

Over the next six months, until summer 2016, a number of western agencies shared further information on contacts between Trump’s inner circle and Russians, sources said.

The European countries that passed on electronic intelligence – known as sigint – included Germany, Estonia and Poland. Australia, a member of the “Five Eyes” spying alliance that also includes the US, UK, Canada and New Zealand, also relayed material, one source said.
