You did not get to the top of the USSR being a half-hearted Commi.

If the Politburo or KGB knew what the end result would be from his attempts to save Communism... they would have put a bullet in his head.

That is absolutely irrelevant. Gorbachev ran his government with policies of glasnost and perestroika. These had the effect of uncorking a bottle under pressure. Once the cork was off, there was no going back.

It's not irrelevant. He did not want Communism to end. He wanted to save it.

He was a part of a vile, murdering, slave state. He made his way up the flow chart by supporting and fomenting it.

He was Putin with his ass against the wall. He made the wrong moves for his slave state. It wasn't an act designed to create Liberty from the Communist state for the hundreds of millions enslaved. It was an act to save the slave state.

Having watched all 4 of Oliver Stone's recent interviews, it's very easy to understand how people of the world would reach that conclusion. The contrast between Putin and any American political leader, especially POTUS, is stark. Putin is thoughtful and rational, Donald is pure bombast and absurdity.

More important than the words they speak are the actions they commit. Another stark contrast in that department.
