Trump wants to keep new immigrants from getting welfare — which is already law

The point of apdst's post was to claim that stopping immigration would stop identity fraud. Most identity fraud is committed by the tech savvy who do not need to immigrate and aren't using it to carry out day to day transactions.

How would banning immigration stop it?

Let's settle this once and for all.

Hat is contending you are putting forth the contention that all USA identity theft will magically cease to exist if illegal immigration is resolved one way or another once and for all.


I contend the demand for fake identities will be lessened to the extent the black market support systems that are in place now will no longer have access to those specific customers that come across illegally and purchase fake identities since well...they won't exist anymore in this fantastical magical land.


I also contend that you never meant that to begin with and he is planting his own personal straw man to spar with and carry with him when he's done.


Please clarify your thoughts on the investigation errr....let's call it a matter.

Good point... Start putting job creators who hire illegals in jail and ONE part of the issue gets resolved: those entering illegally... But it would be nice if Trump and those who bash illegals would focus on visa-overstayers, who are estimated to be 4O+% of those here illegally. Though some of them, as Trump would suppose, are probably nice people, no doubt some are rapists... But they probably have lighter color skins than the average Latin American

Seriously, we have always been addicted to cheap labor, free and slave, legal and otherwise. (I am of Italian descent... Heard once that the nickname "wop" for us paisanos came from "without papers.") Even as some bash the latest round of immigrants, we benefit from cheaper meals in restaurants, lower construction costs, lower motel rates, cheaper fruit and veggies, etc. And we are the only rich country that shares a land border with a third world country -- thus our problem is somewhat unique and will be with us for a while.

Also interesting is the "illegals on welfare argument." Just visited Mexico... They see things differently. People there joke that gringos are lazy and don't want to work.

The sputum you cough up regularly on the matter seems a symptom of some underlying infirmity, an incapacity to logically coalesce the disparate parts of a non career politician into the whole. From the outside I view your manner of approach regarding the president almost appearing of a spurned lover fixation style. Yours adds to my now daily wonder as to why so many "Americans" are siding with a clearly out of control deep state trying to sink a duly elected president.

Could well have had an impact...she definitely instilled a belief in questioning sacred cows. She, however, does not deserve actual credit nor blame for my style or of writing and teaching.

To be truthful I don't recall any extended exposure to her writings; both parents seemed to want me to learn by experience and of my own accord, neither were natural teachers.

I will take it as a compliment that the writing style is not the banal same ol same ol, though doubtful if meant as such.

:shrug: if it happens, it will be good. Just as it was good when Obama gave the order to go into Pakistan and kill bin Laden. That doesn't excuse the rest of what he did, nor does a SCOTUS nominee excuse the rest of the Trump debacle.

I will give him this - I truly underestimated his ability to head up an administration as incompetent as he is. Mostly they seem incapable of doing as much damage as they could largely because they seem incapable of doing much of anything.
