Ex-FBI Director James Comey... confronted her about possible political interference in the Hillary Clinton email investigation after showing Lynch a sensitive document she was unaware the FBI possessed, according to sources who were directly briefed on the matter.

During the conversation, Comey told lawmakers he confronted Lynch with a highly sensitive piece of evidence, a communication between two political figures that suggested Lynch had agreed to put the kibosh on any prosecution of Clinton.

Comey privately told Congress about second confrontation with the former Attorney General | Circa News - Learn. Think. Do.

Obstruction of Justice anyone?

Looks like Comey and Lynch have serious problems. When that happens, when the FBI Director confronts a corrupt head of the DoJ, it is his duty to report it to Congress.

You do realize that document you cite is fake, right? Also he did tell Congress twice.

I should have added that this is some messed up and it doesn't help when Trump flings his shat around saying he fired Comey because he usurped Lynch. If it is true that she tried to obstruct it should be treated as such. This is why we need Mueller for the next 2 years to get to the truth. If Trump fires him all shat will hit the fan.

Where, exactly, is this alleged evidence and who, exactly, are these two political figures? The fact that (two?) unnamed sources "suggested" that something happened is far from solid evidence, IMHO. We all know that political figures tend to say (suggest?) things that are far from "fact". When a political figures call a spending increase a spending cut because it was less of a spending increase than those political figures expected to get then we have a the suggestion of a problem. ;)

Maybe he put it in a "memo to self".

Lynch needs a cavity check after the tarmac summit and covering for Hillary.

*BREAKING NEWS* Trump and Sessions meet with Russians on airport tarmac just before Session's testimony. No need to worry though. They were just talking about grandkids and golf at Mar-a-Lago.

Your link doesn't say it's fake. It says he didn't tell Graham it was fake. Nothing I read indicates it is fake.

Headline: Graham: Comey Didn’t Tell Congress the DNC Email That Drove Him to Intervene in Clinton Investigation Was Fake

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R., S.C.) said Sunday that former FBI Director James Comey did not tell lawmakers the email that played a role in his decision to publicly intervene in the Hillary Clinton email investigation was fake, as the FBI reportedly believed.

The Washington Post reported May 24 on a Russian intelligence document the FBI obtained that purported to show a "tacit understanding between the Clinton campaign and the Justice Department" over the investigation into Clinton's email server use. The FBI, according to the report, believed the document was unreliable and possibly fake.

The document cited an email describing how then-Attorney General Loretta Lynch had privately assured "someone in the Clinton campaign that the email investigation would not push too deeply into the matter." If true, it would affect the integrity of the FBI's investigation, the Post reported:

Current and former officials have said that Comey relied on the document in making his July decision to announce on his own, without Justice Department involvement, that the investigation was over. That public announcement — in which he criticized Clinton and made extensive comments about the evidence — set in motion a chain of other FBI moves that Democrats now say helped Trump win the presidential election.

Comey said on CBS program "Face The Nation" he wanted to know if it was true that Comey was spurred by that document to make his July announcement that he would not recommend charges to the Justice Department. In that announcement, he also said Clinton was "extremely careless" with classified material.

Graham, who sits on the Senate Judiciary Committee, said he wanted Comey to testify on the matter.

"I know on two separate occasions he has told members of the House and the Senate the main reason that he jumped into the election last year and took over the job of the Attorney General was because he believed there were emails between the Democratic National Committee and the Department of Justice that compromised the Department of Justice," Graham said. "He thought that the Russians were going to release these emails. That's why he jumped in and took over Loretta Lynch's job. I want to know, is that true?"

Re: Comey got 'steely silence' after confronting Loretta Lynch about Clinton's email

I'm sick and tired of anonymous sources and "highly classified" memos. I don't care who it's coming from but I want some real answers and real evidence for all this crap and if it's not out there then all these "leakers" need to go find something productive to do.

Would this surprise me if it were true? Hell no. That's not the point though. As a voting citizen I expect something better than innuendo and baseless accusations out of my government and out of the media.

I think that is the point. Trump supporters like to make all these claims that there is nothing going on here, so drop the investigation. In reality there is very much competing evidence that needs to get sorted out. We need an independent investigation even if it takes years.

I'm sick and tired of "leaks" that depict Comey as a Dudley Do Right. He is a snake.

If Mueller is as virtuous, as some claim he is, and if his investigation does include this scandal. If, If, If. Maybe justice will be served, but I rather doubt it.
Mueller is, after all, a denizen of the swamp, as is Comey, as is Lynch.

Ya know, when a group of fundamentally dishonest people point to someone and claim that person is honest, somehow I have doubts. I don't know why...

Yet another 'Lucy and football' moment in the making. Kinda tired of those that continue to be taken in by the same old ploy over and over again.

Haven't you heard? Obstruction of Justice only applies to non-Democrats.
Such is the two-tiered legal system we now have as evidenced by Comey's invention of the 'lack of intent' standard for Hillary.
What were you thinking man!

Then perhaps you need to learn to read because the article says quite clearly that the "FBI reportedly believed the document was unreliable and possibly fake". That's why Graham wants Comey to testify on the matter. Because if the document was fake and Comey knew it and lied the lawmakers....then he committed perjury...and that's a pretty big deal.

Turns out that Comey may have lied to congress about the emails...twice.

Take your own advice, plus follow the path backwards to see what I was actually commenting on. I happen to agree that it's a pretty big deal and I believe Comey lied.

You know, you don't need to come off and start with an insult to prove your point about something. Starting your post with "The article quite clearly" would have sufficed.

You started your post claiming the article that you quoted didn't say the documents were fake and that nothing you read indicates it is fake and it yet it clearly did. So either you can't read...or you were being dishonest.

But you're right...I could've and should've started my post less antagonistic. Sorry.

Thank you. And I could have been a bit clearer. The FBI said it was "possibly" fake. I took his comment to mean the article itself was pointing out it was fake, not that the FBI said it. I didn't believe that it was fake since Comey apparently relied on it. Either way, Comey lied and/or misled.

That would be the official story. Which many would faithfully parrot after the screams of "fake news."
