Ex-GOP congressman: Ryan would look into impeachment if a Democratic president acted

Re: Ex-GOP congressman: Ryan would look into impeachment if a Democratic president ac

The problem is Comey was the leak source. He admitted that but refused to leak anything but negative information.

No he didn't - why make things up? It kills your credibility. He only "admitted" to leaking AFTER he was fired, and what he leaked was his account of Trump pressuring him, which was unclassified.

Based on that alone, he should have been fired. He refused to state publicly his boss was not under investigation for collusion. Based on that, he was refusing to help the PR of the administration. Again, a reason to be fired. Comey liked the spotlight. As an investigator, a bad trait, another reason to be fired. He made prosecutorial decisions....another reason.

There were multiple reasons to fire Comey, and legally, he could be fired.

He explained why the investigators didn't want to publicly state Trump was NOT a target. Made sense to me. And the FBI Director isn't obligated to "help the PR of the administration."

Yes, that doesn't change the fact he refused to verify Trump was not under investigation at the time, when he knew that was true. Both things were happening at the same time, regardless of whether we knew it or not.

When there is no investigation, there is no reason to make the claims he did. The FBI director also shouldn't be undermining the authority of the AG and the POTUS, which he did. Comey was playing political games and got burnt, end of story.

An FBI director is not tasked with making a **** president look better.

That isn't what I said, now is it? I said undermining their authority. Which he did.

The President and the AG are the top law officials in the country. What does it say when the FBI director does not think he has to answer to them? But you go ahead and keep posting cartoon pics and losing elections.

Lose elections? How could I lose elections hon? Both your president and your AG ARE cartoons.

Please. You vote Democrat, or at the least, you vote liberal.

When did he "not answer to them?"

When did he "not answer to them?"

If he knew the President was not under investigation, he should have just went public and said it. Instead he let rumors linger in the press when all of the Congressional leadership knew there was no collusion, as did he and I assume, the President and AG.

Instead of vindicating the President, he played politics and gave the rumors extra run time by leaking negative details himself. We did not know this before his testimony, but it lends credence to his firing being justified. He was actively damaging the Presidency with his actions.

Goalposts have shifted back to "didn't do PR the way you wanted him to." As expected.

He absolutely should not have went public and said it. Investigation was under way. For all he knew, the next interview or next email he uncovered might have led him straight to Trump.

And he didn't "know there was no collusion." At this point, it's pretty clear that several Trump surrogates had contact with Russia, and that many of these contacts were not being disclosed.

1. They knew the full extent of the meetings in April.
2. They knew there was no collusion at the same time they knew of all of the meetings.
3. Trump was never under investigation.
4. It would have been easy for Comey to, as a consequence of points 1 to 3, say Trump is not under investigation at this time.
5. That would both be accurate and satisfy his boss and cover him should an investigation be opened.

6. Comey is smart enough to have done such. He picked politics. He got fired for it.

What if I want Trump gone because he presents a clear and present danger to the security of the United States, is that partisan?

It is if you don't say the same thing about his predecessor.

Re: Ex-GOP congressman: Ryan would look into impeachment if a Democratic president ac

There are definitely plenty of partisans here, but not all the people who want Trump gone are partisans. A good, though not perfect, way to test their partisanship is to check how they handled the Hillary investigations. There are enough parallels in the two investigations to check how consistent they are.

I criticized Hilldogs handling of the email scandal, at the very least an inexcusable act of miss management. She was, and still is preferable to this disaster as a Leader. At least the woman could have acted the part, and not embarrass this country in the same manner Trump has managed. She was the less of the two evils, and does not have NPD, like the current occupant. I hate too say I told ya so, but I did say this man was unsuited for the position, his personality disorder dictates many of his PR disasters, and it will only get worse unless Trump gets some counseling. The man is a sandwich short of a picnic.
