I'm sure you mean illegal drugs. Almost all my "con" friends drink, many quite a lot, and alcohol kills more people, ruins more families, than all other "drugs" combined.**



** Depends on the data base. By some counts illegal and prescription drugs kill more than alcohol. Point is, alcohol is highly deadly and a massive societal problem we somehow view use and abuse of alcohol differently than "drugs."

Based upon your logic that it's fine as long as he won democratically, it would be fine with you if the people elected a leader who ran on the program to round up Jews and execute them systematically? Then, after he won the election, he began implementing said plan?

Out of curiousity, why would you even condone that distasteful characterization, that is obviously untrue? Such condonation lets your true colors bleed through.

1. Mussolini did not get the trains to run on time. You're a liberal so I don't expect you to be up to speed on historical facts, or facts of any kind for that matter.

2. The "trains run on time" is just propoganda put out by fascists. That you, a liberal, blindly accept fascist propoganda is also of no surprise.

3. You also miss the point of said propoganda. People are willing to accept bad as long as they're getting some good. Mussolini was a grade A asshole and an incompetent dunce. However the point is that people will accept all this if they are getting what they actually want. That you also miss the functional purpose of the propoganda is once again not surprising. As a liberal it's expected that you may have difficulty parsing text.

The people of the Phillipines accept Dutarte, warts and all, because they accept his "war on drugs". It's not hard to understand so save your pearl clutching in feigned outrage for your liberal circle jerk. I have neither the interest nor the time to keep schooling you on history and reading comprehension.

Calm down. My comment reflects a saying commonly used by my Italian relatives to joke about Benito. It has passed into our society's glossary of phrases to describe dictatorships. I remember Bill Buckley, the conservative talk host, using it when someone praised Cuba's health care system.

The analogy I return to involves Latin American dictatorships. Those tyrannies fought leftist insurgencies, which was their right, by not killing the guerillas, but by destroying whole villages, every man, woman, child, plant and animal. The guy who was among the worst was sentenced to 80 years in jail, and many guerillas now hold elected public office.

How would your feel if your child or parent was in the neighborhood and killed by Duterte's thugs? If he can murder indiscriminately, someone is justified in killing him the same way.
