But I have serious doubts whether all of the millions of legal/illegal immigrants a year from everywhere around the globe are anxious to assimilate.
"Diversity" is a euphemism to say we shouldn't expect assimilation

Certain States are passing laws designed to accommodate their muslim communities that feel bound by Sharia Law.
Does the US Constitution require States or the Federal Government to indulge such religion specific practices?
I'm surprised we haven't heard more that as a Freedom Of Religion issue.
You can bet it's coming and may be hard to argue against given the current Judicial climate in much of the Country.

Sadly, that is not the case with Mexican and Central American illegal aliens. I have friends from Mexico and Central America that fit the same situation as the Cubans but every one of them immigrated legally to the U.S. just like the Cubans, Poles, Hungarians, Czechs etc.
