British power generation achieves first ever coal-free day

since you always take the side which comes from the left the implication is there, but you have a nice day

I'm out of here, as you seem more concerned with labeling folks than discussing nuclear power, turn the lights off when you leave please, saves energy.

Again, we need to look at safe and economical ways to harness that energy, we can drop bombs in caves, and mess with N Koreas missile launches, it deserves attention at the very least.

We already can safely and economically harness that energy, however it is politically toxic to most elected officials to authorize nuclear power plants.

look at the idea of a national nuclear repository, they still can't store the spent rods in Yucca Mountain, an area in an endorheic basin where waste can't possibly contaminate urban water supplies, in the middle of the desert where nobody lives, so where are you going to place new reactors, and why is it we can't keep the ones we have working? until the greenies stop opposing everything I say burn the f***ing coal and who care what they think?

So you would support new nuclear power plants in the US.

Did you read the entire thread, the answer is contained inside, have a great day.

Oh ya, I was stationed at Nellis AFB 2001-2005, Yucca was very controversial. I see no reason why money should not be invested in RESEARCHING the idea.

you act as if research has never been done, the issue has been intensively studied. the problem is politics doesn't always align with science. go figure.

I asked you.

Na

I have better things to do with my time then draw a roadmap for someone who does not want to follow instructions.

Have a great day, my last post in this thread

Running away.

Cite please!

Again, coal is a dirty industry. It is tough on the environment and tough on the well-being of people that work in it (see previous posts for cites). It is an industry that needs to be regulated. Daddy saying "no", follow the rules is NOT regulating it out of existence. A business the requires the exploitation of workers and the environment is not a business. A business that tries to make a living on such exploitation is going to find itself regulated.

You will note that Obama called for investment in clean coal technology, that is hardly anti-coal.

Again, let me point out how debate works. We each throw out our postulates. We each challenge the other. In my challenge, I offered third party expert evidence; you offered nothing. As in a court of law, if I offer evidence, the burden of proof shifts to you. If you do not offer countering evidence, evidence to support your position or evidence to discredit my evidence, you lose.

Again, you are shooting from the hip as you are merely arguing your impressions of things. Please, take the time to learn something to support your position or bring something to the table to help me learn something. You have added nothing to this thread.

It's funny how Liberals can't remember anything.

I was the first to call for a 100% auction on the cap and trade system, which means that every unit of carbon or greenhouse gases emitted would be charged to the polluter. That will create a market in which whatever technologies are out there that are being presented, whatever power plants that are being built, that they would have to meet the rigors of that market and the ratcheted down caps that are being placed, imposed every year.

So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can; it's just that it will bankrupt them because they're going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that's being emitted.

Why would the UK want to import coal from Eastern Europe when they have no need? Did you even read the link?

Read?? Are you kidding? I'm a white boy trump voter
"He's doing what he said" nothing? That's enough for me. Hope he won't shoot me or grab my wife's p.
But then that would be ok

Not so much politically toxic as they are economically toxic.
Nuclear power plants are shuttering all over the country.
