In the latest apparent shift of the White House's official stated position on what could draw a U.S. military response in the Syrian conflict, on Monday afternoon press secretary Sean Spicer warned that the use of either chemical weapons or the use of barrel bombs on civilians could draw fire, literally, from the Trump administration.

Will the US be sending thousands of troops to Syria as suggested by John McCain and Lyndsey Graham?

Leaders should solve problems with words, not war, otherwise they shouldn't be running a country because they are reckless. Having one country would be a lot more peaceful because then people have nothing to be violent towards, that is if the country is ran right. We seem to have somewhat of a model to build from.

Anyway, the world is a red line to Trump if so convenient.

I still don't think Trump is stupid enough to follow the lead of the likes of the 'lost cause brigade' of McCain, Rubio or Graham.
I thought Niki Haley was at the bottom of the barrel of Trump appointees & she's sounding just like Samantha Powers who
was Obama's United States Ambassador to the United Nations & Samantha Powers could give lessons on how not to be an effective woman diplomat, it appears as though Powers must have past the stupid baton onto Haley!

What exactly is an effective woman diplomat supposed to do that's different from an effective man diplomat? Inquiring minds want to know.

The US is militarily weak and in no position to fight a major war in syria, iran or north korea at this time

Let they syrians kill each other while we increase military spending to rebuild our military

An talented diplomat regardless of gender artfully engages others to enhance the interests of the country she or he represents.
Haley is simply not up to the task, that's the point!

Whether your mind rates as an inquiring one who knows but here goes. After Victoria Nuland lowered the bar for woman diplomats
one would hope that an American woman in an important post would prove effective.

Nuland is a lunatic - a neocon lunatic.
When someone curses peace agreements then you are safe to ignore their opinion.
She is a disgrace to everything real diplomacy stands for, and a horrible example to women
who want to become diplomats. She still hasn't recovered after Putin slapped her on the face
with Crimea changing hands quicker that one can say peninsula.

Nikki Haley seems to be following Nulands 'regime change' message in a different petri dish!

I see nothing here that has anything to do with anyone's gender, outside of the fact that it's not yours.

Fun game: in every Zero Hedge article, go to the comments section and count the number of times that "Jew, joo, Zionist, Zion and moneychanger" are used. This article gets a full bingo.

I couldn't tell you why, but Nazis love the hell out of Zero Hedge.

We are closer to WWIII than you think. Russia is now installing anti-missle batteries in Syria, along with other missiles that would be capable of sinking any ship firing cruise missiles.

Most Syrians have left. Besides Assads regime, the only people left in Syria now seem to be the destitute that couldn't escape and foreigner fighters.

I don't think our military needs "rebuilding"...it just needs streamlining and more efficiency...and that doesn't come from just throwing money at it....it comes from necessity and being frugal.

I dare say that I blame Russia for protecting Syria... considering that's where their largest naval base is located and their only access to the Mediterranean and the Atlantic Ocean. They're not going to give that up without a fight, thats is for sure.

Words rarely work when the other side has already decided on war. The issue here is not so much means, but rather we really want to make Syria another Iraq, which is really the only way to get rid of Assad.

It doesn't seem like Niki Haley, Rex Tillerson and Trump are on the same page about foreign policy at all.

I still think Trump & Tillerson are! Haley's warmongering is sickening she's attacking Russia as though she's in charge of policy, even
Samatha Powers fell short of that!

It looks like she's building a case for war...just like Bush did. Tillerson has said some pretty strong words against Russia recently, too....but not a tweet from Trump. When he personally condemns Russia like Haley and Tillerman have....then they'll be on the same page. But so far he just seems to condemn everyone BUT Russia.

I have heard Tillerson and other people associated with the Admin say that regime change is necessary in Syria... wtf...

I would rather back the hell off this entire situation, and worry about taking care of American people first. I am sorry people are being killed, but I don't want our people to die either. I also think we could help them in form of giving them refuge and not just dropping bombs on their soil.

Re: White House New "Red Lines": Assad's Use Of Barrell Bombs Could Lead To More Srik

Wasn't it Trump who thought barrel bombs were the answer?

See, if you were smart, you would have just shut up here, since you would have been correct.

Whether your mind rates as an inquiring one who knows but here goes. After Victoria Nuland lowered the bar for woman diplomats

And then you went and stepped in it again. There is no bar for "woman diplomats." There is simply a bar for "diplomats." The gender of Nikki Haley or Victoria Nuland does not enter into the equation whatsoever regarding their effectiveness as diplomats any more then it has for any male diplomat.

Bearing a penis does not make you better at international negotiations.

As per the people who voted this asshole into office, that's not acceptable American behavior.

It doesn't seem like anyone in this administration is on the same page with anybody about anything.

A lot of what they have done is on their voters page. Does that page count?
