Suddenly, Both Obamacare Repeal And Trump Tax Reform Are Dead

So if he doesn't get his entire agenda done in 100 days, then it's all over? So he's supposed to sit twittling his thumbs after 100 days until the end of 4 year term? WTF is wrong with you? WTF is wrong with the media? Did Obamacare get done within first 100 days? Did Gitmo get closed? The answer is NO! So Obama was a failure just because of that right?
Obama had a relatively functional, cohesive, and workable Congress his first two years. That's not the case here, which is why many are not so sanguine about a lot getting done.

One can only blame Congress and the Administration for not being able to work together for the best interest of the American people. The current situation shows how political selfish members of Congress are.

To address the actual subject, there have been clashes over what will and will not be in the final bill for a while now. At this point in the Obamacare process there was still a vigorous Exchanges-vs-Single-payer debate. Having disparate demands is how the sausage is made. The only real difference this time is the Democrats operated behind closed doors and the Republicans are being transparent.

It will be interesting to see if the usual suspects rush into this thread to attack the source! :lamo

 Sheesh, you'd think you'd wait a couple months before revising GOP history.

Rand Paul creates storm over access to ObamaCare draft bill | TheHill

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) on Thursday went off in search of a draft of the House Republicans' plan to repeal and replace ObamaCare, creating a storm of controversy gleefully embraced by Democrats.

Paul complained that the ObamaCare bill was being kept in a "secret location." He then walked over to the House side with a copy machine in tow to seek access to a room where he said the bill was being held

As the Bible says, one cannot make a silk purse from a sow's ear.

As long as the insurance industry dictates the rules of US healthcare delivery, it will be an inefficient and expensive mess that excludes a large portion of the population.

And as long as our politicians on both sides of the aisle accept bribes.....er uh donations (directly or filtered through PACS and such) none of it will change.

'It was a one-two knockout punch for anyone still holding out hope that Trump's domestic economic policies will take place in the near, or not even so near, future.'

and an ominous final line:

'Translation: both healthcare and tax reform are now indefinitely dead, which means that a suddenly pivoting Trump, who earlier today said he had "changed his mind" on Syria, may have no choice but to begin war with Assad to distract from everything else that is going on in the US.'

Ryan says tax reform could take longer than healthcare overhaul | Reuters

Thoughts?

Really.... And we were told time after time and day after day that President Trump would never be President!
A knock out punch? Oh my! It's over Trump is just a lame duck now with 3 years 10 months to go. Just more
wishful thinking by the anti-Trump folks.

In both cases it is a pity, because both the tax system and the healthcare are broken. But it was quite clear that the free ride crowd would not want any changes. On the other hand, it is quite unclear that his proposals would have been an improvement.

Trump shouldn't' worry. Tax reform can move forward with bipartisan support. That will cut into the population of "free riders" as they get jobs. Nothing pisses of a taxpayer more than a guy getting a free ride on his dime.
