Rice denies Obama administration inappropriately unmasked Trump team

Rice doesn't have a good track record of honesty. She very recently lied about even unmasking the names. Seems like a flunky to me. An investigation should be conducted to figure out who illegally leaked the names to the press. And an investigation has to discover why, if we knew that the Russians were trying to influence the election, nothing was apparently done.

Well, I think we can safely conclude that Rice wasn't the one that leaked the names to the press...because the only name on the Trump transition team that she did unmask is still classified.

I am just going by the NYTimes which reported several months ago that Trump campaign people talked with the Russians. We don't know names but simply leaking that someone on the Trump team talked with the Russians seems like a security violation if true or a lie, by NYTimes, if false. And Rice could have done that. Or she could have named names but told the NYTimes not to report the actual names.

So could have hundreds of other people.

Stop making automatic assumptions.

Right back at you. I did not say that Rice did that and don't assume that I did. "Could" is defined as "used to indicate possibility". Or do you seriously consider it an impossibility that Rice did this?

At this point, we know little. Rice denied knowing anything about unmasking the records but later it has been reported that she did know. We don't know who leaked either names to the press or even whether specific names were leaked but it was reported by the press that Trump people talked to Russians. So someone with access seemed to have done something. And the people with access is a small group. Like I have said, we need an investigation because this smells. No one is guilty at this point. But one of the following APPARENTLY happened. 1) The NYTimes slandered the Trump administration by falsely reporting collusion, 2) Someone in the Obama administration illegally unmasked records and gave information to the NYTimes, and/or 3) the Obama administration failed to properly secure the US elections, allowing a foreign power to impact the election.

Coulda, woulda, shoulda is all speculation on your part...not the NYT.

The report that Nunes said he saw had nothing to do with the Russians...but...it is the names in that report that Rice is being accused of unmasking and leaking to the press. Yet, the only name leaked from that report was Flynn...and it was confirmed by the WSJ that Rice was not the one that unmasked his name...and the name she did request unmasked is still classified.

I would post the original source, the WSJ...but it has a paywall...so this will just have to do....

"...The Wall Street Journal reported that the names of two U.S. citizens who were part of Trump’s transition team were unmasked in intelligence reports. One person was Michael Flynn, who served briefly as Trump’s national security adviser until he was fired for misleading other administration officials about the nature of conversations with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak. Those conversations were monitored by the NSA, but the WSJ said that Rice did not instigate Flynn’s unmasking. Instead, the paper said Rice requested the unmasking of another (unnamed) transition official who was “part of multiple foreign conversations that weren’t related to Russia.”...."

"...A Republican official familiar with deliberations by GOP lawmakers on the House Intelligence Committee said that the names of two U.S. citizens who were part of Mr. Trump's transition team have been unmasked in intelligence reports.

One is Mr. Flynn and the other hasn't been identified, said the official. The report involving Mr. Flynn documented phone conversations he had in late December with the Russian ambassador to the U.S.
The official said Ms. Rice had requested the unmasking of at least one transition official—not Mr. Flynn—who was part of multiple foreign conversations that weren't related to Russia.

There was more than one unmasker, and Rice didn't unmask Flynn | Washington Examiner

None of your comments had anything to do with what NYT reported or what Rice COULD have done. And I wasn't talking about Flynn. Have no idea why you think that your comments are relevant.
Apparently Rice lied about the presence of chemical agents in Syria. Apparently. But that comment has nothing to do with this discussion either.

You're making absolutely no sense whatsoever. I asked you what you were talking about...and you don't seem to have a coherent answer...so I can only assume that you don't either.

How many members of the Trump transition team did she request unmasked???

Get a ****ing clue yourself.

Ask your source that I quoted from your link. Get a F..... clue

"Rice’s unmasking requests involved multiple foreign conversations that weren’t related to Russia, the official said."
