Bannon Pushed Trump to Use Health Care Vote to Write Up “Enemies List”

How do you think Pelosi keeps her caucus in line? Candy?

She plays politics. I thought Trump "wasn't a politician" and was going to "drain the swamp." 0 for 2 on those so far.

From the article:

But there was NO vote. The bill never came to the floor.

It didn't because Trump went with Paul Ryan's advice. With all the people we know were going to vote against it, you can be sure Bannon got his list.

I don't think Trump/Bannon can hope to win a fight against over 30 people in the GOP party.

Well, I'm not sure. I thought Trump's appeal was that he wasn't a politician. Now he's being one. He also failed to repeal ObamaCare and we still haven't seen ISIS defeated (which he said he could do in 30 days).

Nobody gives a **** what politicians do to each other.

Even though there was no vote, there was a whip count, so DEMs will have there 30-second clips ready next year, GOP style.

As well, GOPs went to the house floor to support this bill. GOPs still think they can blame the DEMs while they are the governing party .

Unless you are a head in the sand Trump groupie, it is clearly right in character for the thin skinned head groper.

Well I'm not holding my breath for Breitbart to report it. Granted, that's the only news source acceptable to you.

I pay about as much attention to Breitbart as I do to 3rd hand news from NYT. Which is none.

So then what makes you qualified to be the final arbiter on what Trump supporters voted for?

So I have no right to criticize him if I didn't vote for him?

I'm just going off of what Trump said, and what his supporters said.

Nobody gives a **** what politicians do to each other.

Especially when it's republicans doing it to each other.

When do you think the buck will stop with trump ?

Bannon pushed Trump to use health care vote to write up enemies list.

"The Times story appears to confirm earlier reports from the Daily Beast that quoted an official saying that Bannon called on the president “to keep a **** list on this.” The unnamed official added: “Not sure if I’d call it an ‘enemies list,’ per se, but I wouldn’t want to be on it.” Another aide described it as a “hit list” for Republicans who were not loyal to the president."

Fake news of course. It makes President Bannon look bad. It sounds like him though. Always more interested in confrontation than anything else.
Never thought I'd long for President Cheney.

Sounds like regular politics to me.

Unless Bannon is suggesting disloyal republicans be killed or something, I mean this is regular strategy, do not support people who don't support you.
No, it's not. Dedicated enemies are rare, actually. "Politics as usual" is situational. You take what you can get when you can get it. That's where the saying, "Politics makes strange bedfellows." comes from. What's really dumb about this burning bridges approach is that it will only make their own political lives harder.

Nobody cares...it's that simple. This is nothing but another anti-Trump piss-n-moan-fest. You all are the same people who defended Obama when he said, "We’re gonna punish our enemies and we’re gonna reward our friends who stand with us on issues that are important to us".

There are about 37 GOPs in the FC and about 50 in the TG, not to mention the 194 DEMs. As long as Ryan insists on all 218 votes coming from GOPs, the 'Hastert Rule', he'll never pass health care or much of anything else significant .

Wow, I don't know - those are a lot of enemies. If the Trump administration plans to wage war on over 30 folks in their own party, I think they'll lose! Many of those "femdom party" GOP'ers have a lot of **** Brother support.

Sometimes I neglect to spell-check my posts. Please excuse any errors :)

Wow, this will be the worst congress ever!

The GOPolitician missing in action in all of this is Mitch McConnell, who has about 15 of his own GOP senators that were against this form of trumpcare .

I wonder where Meryl Streep places on said list.

Which party is having trouble with governing after 66 days?

trump would be better off reading and learning policy than playing golf for the 12th time in 9 weeks .

Then why are you here feeling the need to defend the man?

I had heard from many sources that the bill, as amended to placate the Freedom Caucus (FC), was pretty much DOA in the Senate, and they would have stripped out almost every concession given to the FC and sent it back to the House.

What would the House have done then?

GOP Rep. Poe of Texas leaves the Freedom Caucus. Grover Norquist back in the public eye blaming the Freedom Caucus for stabbing trump in the back.

Wow, this will be the worst congress ever!

DEMs cannot gloat over this temporary GOP failure. It was the people on the ground with their protests that made this form of trumpcare not happen. DEMs and protest groups better stay vigilant when GOPs go after tax cuts .

Then why are you here feeling the need to defend the man?

1. I'm not defending Bannon.

2. Obama was referring to American citizens; Bannon is referring to other politicians. Politicians who also have their own enemies lists.

3. Do you condemn Obama's comments?

I continue to wonder where McConnell is on this leadership thing. Where is the bicameral approach just between GOPs? Mitch will be hatched when he pulls the GOP nuclear option Nixon wrote about in 1957.

Grover Norquist trashing the Freedom Caucus for not stripping away one trillion in taxes from health care throws more gasoline on this fire and exposes Ryan for what he wanted to do on tax cuts for the rich.

It's good for DEMs for Norquist to get back involved in cutting taxes for the rich at the expense of the poor and middle class and expose the GOP for what they are in 19+ months .
