It's called damage control and it is funny because there is no controlling this. Spicer just looks like a fool.

It's actually not hard to believe Manafort played a "limited role," since he got run out of there on a rail almost as fast as he replaced Lewandowski.

He was there just long enough to get the harsh reactions concerning Russia and Crimea pulled from the Republican platform. That was enough to earn his paycheck, I mean cash to a secret account in Cyprus. That's what I read or heard somewhere. I'm not saying it, I' just saying someone said it. And he was a lawyer, or a doctor or somebody smart or important. No wait. Actually it can be proved that Manafort really had that language pulled. Payment however, is based only upon Presidential level evidence.

The worst was Spicer calling the former NSA head a "volunteer". That was truly earth shattering.
I saw John Dean on TV today and he said Spicer is in "full cover-up mode" and asked why they did not learn from history. He said it all was very familiar to him and when he turned during Watergate Nixon denied ever talking to him. If they are not guilty why are Trumps people acting like they are?

Having lived through Watergate and followed it very closely for two years - I must say that I see history repeating itself.

When SPicer tried to distance Trump from Flynn & Manafort yesterday - I could just see the old NY Times headline with the firings of the Nixon inner circle.

This is going to be lots of fun. ;):lol:

For a while I felt sorry for Spicer, but with each passing day I lose more and more respect for him. If he continues with what he knows are lies, misstatements, and ignorant statements in an effort to cover for Trump, he has no honor. The posters here who do the same stupid thing remain anonymous, so only we laugh at them and presumably their families, friends and neighbors don't see their ignorance on display. But Spicer? The world is starting to laugh at him. I have to see someone turn into a caricature this quickly.

You have to wonder what the bottom point will be? I suspect that for many - Trump will be a badge of honor and they will gladly go down with the ship no matter how bad it gets. I would say that number is around 25%.

The numbers are always a bit misleading. Remember only about 60% of all eligible voters actually voted. So, he never had more than roughly 25% of the country to begin with. In real numbers, his support is probably closer to 15% today.

Almost all the polling services except the obvious one measure citizens and NOT likely voters. So the numbers reflect everybody and its probably a fair assumption to say that Trumps approval among the non voters would roughly - more or less - reflect those who voted also.

Wow...that's a big assumption. A lot of people don't vote because they hate everybody running. Hell, that might account for as much as 50% of all non-voters. So, I am sure they hate Trump at least as much as they hated all the other people they did not vote for. But an approval rating is always misleading, and fickle. Hell, Bush's approval rating jumped up 30 points once he disappeared.

GW's approval rating went from ~50% to ~80% immediately post 9/11


I guess Trump could also use a 'New Pearl Harbor' as the PNACers called it ........ worked great for W ..........

I agree its a big assumption. So I could be dead wrong and you could be right on this one. I would love to see some data on the entire issue.

As to Bush - I liked him a lot better when he vanished also. ;)
