Oklahoma state Sen. Ralph Shortey has been stripped of his Senate privileges and faces charges of soliciting prostitution of a minor after cops found him in a motel room with a teen.

An Oklahoma Republican who was a key backer of Donald Trump’s presidential campaign is under investigation after being found in a hotel room with an underage boy.

Police in Moore, Oklahoma, have recommended that state Sen. Ralph Shortey face charges of soliciting prostitution of a minor, prostitution within 1,000 feet of a church, and transportation for the purposes of prostitution, according to KOCO. An unidentified individual allegedly called in a welfare check on the hotel room Shortey shared with the boy just after midnight last Thursday, about a half-hour after the two checked in.

Shortey has three daughters with his wife of 15 years. He has represented Oklahoma City in the state Senate since 2010.

What difference does it make who he supported for POTUS? [other than partisan hackery] Trump isn't against the LGBTQ community.

There are bad apples in every group.

while you are correct that the guy supporting Trump is irrelevant to the crime he committed, you guys had no problem with guilt by association when it was Obama as President.

Good job on the clarification. Men who are attracted to other men aren't "disgusting". Men who are attracted to underage boys (and underage girls) are disgusting.

I feel very sorry for this man's family. They will probably never recover.

I also couldn't care less who he supported for President and think the Daily Beast was obnoxious to somehow tie this to Trump.

Men who are attracted to other men are at least not breaking the law. Whether or not it's disgusting is a matter of personal opinion. And, even if I share that opinion, which I probably do since I am straight and find men sexually repulsive, there is no way to conflate sex between adults to sex with young boys.

I'm not going to play ridiculous games with you, there are posters here who connected Bill Ayers and Obama to terrorism saying that Obama supports it. There were folks that connected everything under the sun to Clinton calling her Killary. To deny that is to deny reality.

They can search through my posts and find that I questioned Obama's associations with Bill Ayers, Jeremiah Wright, Frank Marshall Davis, and others. I'll admit that honestly. And I sincerely doubt I was the only one.
