After 8 years in disaster it's more like karma.

In the old days it was called comeuppance.

People don't generally like to see good people upset or harmed and rightly so.

The others can stew in their own soup.

If lucky some common sense might set in.

There was no disaster. The past 8 years have been pretty good.
