WikiLeaks reveals US and Germany spies cooperating, Julian Assange says | World | News | Express.co.uk

WikiLeaks said its revelations of NSA spying on Angela Merkel and other top German, French and EU officials helped bring about the inquiry.

Commenting on the latest release of classified papers, Assange claimed they could derail Germany's ascendancy within the EU.

He said: "This substantial body of evidence proves that the inquiry has been using documents from Mr [Edward] Snowden and yet it has been too cowardly to permit him to testify.

"Germany can not take a leadership role within the EU if it's own parliamentary processes are subservient to the wishes of a non EU state."

We'll see, but I've learned not to take these wikileak threats lightly.

Germany already rules the EU. Hence the Fourth Reich jokes.

BTW, Wikileaks makes threats?

Actually, many of them can be taken lightly.

Manning's dump didn't do very much; most of it was diplomats being diplomatic. Snowden didn't work with Wikileaks. The DNC and Clinton leaks actually didn't reveal much either, except putting a pizza joint in the crosshairs of a bunch of lunatics. It's also hard to argue that it had a major impact on the election, since Clinton already had a trust gap, and it seems like the last minute deciders were thinking mostly about jobs rather than Podesta's pizza orders.

The CIA release takes away a bunch of the Agency's toys, but seriously -- did no one know that intelligence agencies can hack phones and Internet-connected devices? Does no one realize that the CIA is a spy agency, and their job is to conduct surveillance and espionage? Oh my stars!!!

Similarly, does no one know that allied powers collaborate on intelligence? Heck, isn't that what their citizens want?

So, just saying "Wikileaks Merkel!!!" doesn't tell us anything.

You won't believe it probably. But most Germans seemed to really think it was not so and that the Americans were reprehensible for spying. This is true, because of an extremely damaging irreale view of international security that the political elite has indoctrinated the population with.

Exactly. I'd be kinda pissed if we spent that much money on the CIA and they didn't at the very least do some research to figure out how devices can be hacked if need be. If we don't research it then the bad actors out there will and we would have no idea.

The lies about the campaign wikileaks were much more damning than the actual leaks. That's why stupid ****s had to make up stuff like "look! Clinton is paying off polling companies to skew the polls!" when in reality they just polled alot of hispanics in an internal poll to make sure they knew how to campaign towards that group.

And you are getting your information on German public opinion from...?

I don't think Germans would be too offended if intel was shared with another EU member, but to share outside the EU just makes Germany look like a US lackey, and indeed it is. NATO is also. Just the facts of the real World.

Speaking of Germany and CIA influence within the country, I'm reminded of the now deceased Udo Ulfkotte, a journalist in Germany. I saw an interview with him some years back, and he was most emphatic that the German press/media is very much under the influence of the CIA.

Some folks say that the European Union is actually a CIA effort.

Merkel might be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Wow.. it's amazing how Wikileaks and Russia seem to have such overlapping interests. What a crazy coincidence.

It's even more fascinating how Russia has become such a fallback excuse for the implosion of liberalism and its puppeteer media.

Informal: Friends, wider family of my wife's to an extent.
Formal: Mostly from ARD, ZDF (German public TV), DLF (public German news channel), RTL (private TV), Focus, Der Spiegel, FAZ (private news papers). The mix is great enough to develop a relatively good feel for the situation.

Then there are the consulting and other reading of studies and statistics to do.

Actually there was an agreement with the Chancellery allowing the US to collect any information deemed necessary for the security of its stations and a good amount of the data was actually supplied by the BND, which know US international operations relatively well.

I heard, from a German myself, that German media is very much in favor of establishment types.
That they're filled with SJW types and largely left leaning.

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God.

Russians working overtime taking down Angela.

With as bad as her work is why is she still here? I think it very likely that she is going to get tagged for primary responsibility for the implosion of Europe, inviting all the muslims in is but a bullet point.

yeah, I'm not sure what she was thinking when she made that hair-brained decision.

Offering a hypothetical here, maybe if the US, Israel and NATO were not so intent upon regime change in that part of the world, maybe if the US had not been destroying Syrians and their infrastructure for so many years, maybe then there would not be all those muslim refugees? Maybe they would still be living a peaceful life in their own homes and country?

Penance for the history of her nation is what she was thinking. The Jews.

Germany can't be seen to be treating Muslims like they did Jews.

From what I read, they also believe they can assimilate them and thereby solve their declining population issues. I'm not sure that will work, at least not unless the migrant Muslims temper their religious beliefs down a little and buy into the mainstream concepts of tolerance for the behavior of non-believers.

It used to be the consensus of opinion that lowering the population was a social goal.
Birth control was promoted and such.

More space per person = higher living standards.
