Trump team's push to stop leaks quickly leaks to press

Ah. Another supporter of congressional gridlock. I think it is our only salvation until we get single term limits,
What one man sees as gridlock, another may see as the proper checks & balances foreseen by our forefathers and implemented in the Constitution.

You know what's ironic, if Hillary had won, I would be exposing her on here.. and I'd likely be friends with some conservatives, but, because I tell truth about Trump and GWB I'm a bad guy.

Yep- Trump cannot do anything wrong.

Me too.

But I swear, there's more entertainment value in Trump than any U.S. President in my substantial lifetime! Not even close!

I didn't want him. But if there was a secure Court and a divided Congress, I'd welcome him for entertainment alone!

Too bad that's not the case ...

Problem is does he place the country at risk?

So the Elite are now leaking secret plans to deal with North Korea because they think it hurts Trump.....

Can we all spell TREASON?

ANY U.S. President is right to be concerned about any illegal leaking of classified information to the press by any employee of the Executive Branch. And as Chief Executive, he is right to take whatever action is needed to correct the problem. I hope everyone responsible will be identified and prosecuted for all applicable federal crimes by the Justice Department. Some of the employees who are ultimately responsible to President Trump are disloyal to him, and they are actively working against him. That sort of intrigue by secret factions--renegades working from within against the elected government--cannot be tolerated in a democratic republic.

Not directed at you- But Conservatives- Republicans were dancing in the streets ref leaks during the Obama Admin.

Especially after a few pints.

We are both old, yes they are important, and somewhat frequent. 2 am, gotta go, ya know what I mean? Either that or plastic sheets???

Not this conservative. Congress made this sort of publication of classified government information a felony for very good reasons. Anyone who engages in it for the purpose of damaging political opponents, whoever happens to be President at the time, should be prosecuted by the Justice Department. What Mr. Obama did by having his minions pull these stunts is not much different from the dirty tricks President Nixon had various people carry out. What makes the acts so serious in both cases is that they are anti-democratic--direct attacks on our constitutional system of government.

That said, Republicans were also complicit in leaks.

Indeed. I'm a believer that partisan laws are bad. If the the congresspeople can't agree on what is best for the country, the law should never see the light of day. I call it gridlock. You call it checks and balances and they are probably terms for the same thing. My own preference is for fewer laws.

Not technically the most important thing going on, but it's certainly good for a chuckle. At least it is until you remember that leakers within the various government departments are the only people standing between Trump and the complete realization of his will, such as it is.

Isn't this just what the Obama administration did? I think Barack's administration had the highest rate recorded for prosecution of leakers and whistleblowers. Like Father like Son, eh?

Did he? I don't recall, nor do I recall that leaks under his administration were an especially big deal. And I'm not clear on why I should care either way.

You should not care if the government actively suppresses the truth? You should not care if the government deceives the citizens, pardon the consumers?

Thank you for showing how oblivious the consumers are, just trying to pay their taxes. They expect their government to lie to them.

Obama set the record for obscene prosecutions of citizens exposing the crimes of their government, and The Donald attempts to follow suit. Ha, fake news indeed! We are so under their control, intended or not.

Yes, the government that governs least - governs best!

As long as it adequate fulfills it's basic duties.

Of course just exactly what those duties are, is the 64 thousand dollar question is - is it not? ;)

Shrug. Obama didn't rise to power on a tidal wave of fake news and leaks gained illegally from his opponents, after which laughing about how much he loves leaks.

As for Trump? Screw that guy. He loved the hell out of leaks when he was gaining from it. The best outcome is that leaks within every building in Washington are responsible for bringing him down. When all is said and done, those people need to be given Congressional Medals of Honor.

It sure is. It is the core difference between conservatives and liberals.

Thank you for the "shrug". That is the essence of the oblivious American voter these days, and a fine demonstration of why we have the government we deserve. Today's citizen does not care if the government misleads them, does not care if the government suppresses truth and conducts false flag operations to allow illegitimate wars.

And thank you for your weird non sequitur.

I would warn all of the Democrat supporters out there to consider what they are actually supporting in this transition because you can't bet that 4 to 8 years from now the Trump administration will return the favor on any incoming Democrat president. By then he will have stacked these departments with his own faithful who will also dutifully cause mayhem for the incoming president.

You've been warned... but then none of you took the warning with Reid's nuclear option either.

With all of the information coming out and recently video of a meeting filmed outside an Oval Office window - I'm starting to wonder if the leaks are coming from the Secret Service.

So in other words, if leakers persist in leaking, he will have no choice but to engage in what he already benefited from in 2016.

Okay...

They're coming from practically everywhere, it seems.

Okay...

No, I am saying that if the supporters of the previous president are allowed to continue leaking information then expect the same treatment by these agencies when a Democrat is in office.

And hey, I though you guys were pushing the narrative that it was Russian hacks, not leaks....
