Jorge Ramos: America Is ?Our Country, Not Theirs???And We Are Not Going to Leave?

Univision senior anchor Jorge Ramos declared on Friday that the United States belongs to Latino migrants, emphatically stating to a Spanish-speaking audience that “it is our country, not theirs.”

Ramos took an unusual tack, pivoting from talk of diversity and togetherness into boasts of conquest. Mass immigration, particularly illegal immigration, was a fait accompli. There is nothing the U.S. can do about it, and they must accept that America is “not their” country and that illegal aliens, particularly Latinos, “are not going to leave,” he said.

Well if you ever wondered how Mexicans feel about the USA, now you know. What will the country be like when there is no majority race, and the borders are open to all? No one seems to be concerned about a "soft invasion" from China and Iran if we have open borders.

I, thankfully, will be pushing daisies by then - estimated to be ~ 2040 or so, depending on immigration enforcement.

Technically, he's a Mexican-American as he is an American Citizen and his opinion is not reflected on how Mexicans feel about the USA.

Well between giving our country away to terrorist sympathizing refugees and illegal immigrants maybe they can fight over who this country belongs too. One thing is certain is that that liberals are inviting enemies into our country to destroy it from within.

He certainly sounds hostile and threatening.

The source is Breitbart. Enough said.

Technically, he sounds like a community organizer trying to stir up trouble instead of a member of the esteemed media.

Yes, he does. He's done this in the past, just someone who wants attention, which we are giving him.

I remember when journalists presented a factual story and kept their opinions to themselves.

Mexican is a nationality that didn't exist until 1810. I wish those people would read a book, before saying stupid ****.

It's a real privilege to have a Centenarian on the board! How long ago was your 100th?

The title of this thread is slightly misleading: it sounds like Ramos is saying the United States belongs to Mexicans, not Americans. What he actually said (translated to English)

There are many people who do not want us to be here, and who want to create a wall in order to separate us,” he said.

“But you know what? This is also our country. Let me repeat this: Our country, not theirs."

The "theirs" refers to people "who want to create a wall", not to all Americans. By leaving out the "wall" sentence, the title of this thread implies Ramos was saying the country didn't belong to any Americans.

The "also our country" confirms that Ramos is talking about sharing the country, and not saying it belongs solely to Mexicans.

The phrase "not theirs" is ambiguous even in the original Spanish, but could mean "not ONLY theirs". In other words, Ramos is saying the country does not belong solely to those who want to create a wall.

Ramos is talking out of both sides of his mouth

He does say "its ALSO our country"

But then adds "not theirs"

That still makes Ramos look like an idiot.

He's attempting to compared the border wall to the Berlin Wall (the "seperating" part). And he's wrong, like every other yahoo who's used that comparison. It's a security measure. People can still come here. The just have to do it legally.

Ramos is just trying to stir up trouble...AGAIN. He should just stick to being a crappy journalist.

Who is the "us"? Ramos claims to be an American so a wall wouldn't separate him from anyone.
