Nope, according to Trump most illegal aliens are "good people" and only those that commit other "serious" crimes will be deported. That is sure to increase the flow before Trump's "great wall" gets built - wait and see.

Good people can still be deported although many will not be

The very best of the illegal aliens may be allowed to stay

But many will have minor flaws in their record that may prevent them from staying

If so they may be wasting their time and money to come here

Lets wait and see where trump goes on the illegal allien issue

A lot of what happens to the perhaps 30 million illegal aliens depends on building the wall so that people who are deported stay deported

We have been doing that since 1986 - so it is obvious that congress critters will be slow to change that which gets them re-elected at over 90%.

As far as I know, he suggested only that some folks beat up other folks. I do not recall that he specified race, gender or religion.

That said, he's been really big on building more wall, and supportive of xenophobia. He has warned us that there are some bad hombres out and about, and attempted to restrict travel from 7 muslim countries.

Sure.

Its 30 years overdue

But xenophobia?

We have an undeniable threat from radical muslims and criminal aliens

So whatever we call people with no sense of self or national preservation it applies to a lot of anti trumpsters

He's for legal immigration. merit based, just like canada.

The wall already exists, and as NBC pointed out days ago, according to Customs much of the contraband comes in through the legal ports of entry between segments of the wall. They've been fighting the silly drug war my entire life and years ago it reached the point where drugs are smuggled into prisons and schools. Gimme a break. The immigration system is pretty much the same.

Undeniable threat? Puh-leeze. If you're referring to 911, and I suspect you are, there were no muslims with box cutters. The attacks were staged events planned by people on the inside, NOT "radical muslims" and "criminal aliens".

I'm for legal immigration too. Isn't everybody? But making a mountain out of a molehill, based upon xenophobia, is not the answer.

He advocated violence as a solution at several of his campaign meetings. Several posters here think that's just fine. I get it, the human race DOES have a dark side. Demagogues promote violence.

Widespread government law-breaking, unprosecuted and unpunished, widespread Wall Street law-breaking unprosecuted and unpunished, create far harm to this country ESPECIALLY the rule of law, than does petty "immigration papers" offenses.

It is not, but it has been the de facto policy for the past six decades.
Building a wall to keep out people who we need to bring in the crops is not very sensible, either, nor is spending billions on a wall that will keep no one out.

The wall does not exist yet except in some places

We are arresting mexican criminals who have been deported many times and simply walked back across the border

We intend to stop illegal aliens and drug smugglers from using the southern border to violate our laws.

If that botters druggies sorry about that

We can have a guest worker program for the farmers since so many Americans on welfare are too lazy to do that kind of work

But the border will be closed so that family members will have to remain in Mexico and not come here

when did a guest worker program become a part of the "build a wall and Mexico will pay for it" immigration strategy? I hadn't heard about such a thing.

Earlier in the same week that this Indian man was killed, Trump tweeted "Wake up America", in reference to the Muslim guy in the Louvre. This former Navy man heard his Commander-in-Chief say this (probably mentally disturbed, and maybe even from service duty) and interpreted it as a "Call to Arms".
