'After questioning President Trump's sanity earlier in the week, it appears Democrats have found another narrative to cling to - invoke the 25th Amendment unless Trump "gets a grip."

...

Rep. Earl Blumenauer (D-Ore.) in a floor speech this week called for a review of the Constitution's procedures for removing a president. He warned the 25th Amendment of the Constitution falls short when it comes to mental or emotional fitness for office.

Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) during a weekend interview with CNN’s “State of the Union” said that “a few” Republican colleagues have expressed concern to him about Trump's mental health.'

These people need to hurry up and get through the Bargaining Phase. This is getting ridiculous.

My thoughts?

The only real insanity is this persistent effort to de-legitimize a seated President by any means necessary...all based on partisan hackery and SJW-butthurt.

He was elected.

He is the President.

He has done nothing (as of yet) to merit removal.

Get Over It!

Actually, those citing Trumps authoritarian ways and mental instability are growing every day.. Recently Governor McAuliffe of Virginia summed it up rather nicely

“236 years ago, we beat the British at Yorktown and we sent them back because we would not allow the tyranny of a king to dictate our terms to us,” McAuliffe said. “And 236 years later, folks, we’re not going back to those days.”

There is a very very strong sense in the nation that Trump is illegitimate and is taking the nation down a dangerous path - both domestically and with foreign nations and must be opposed like no president ever has in modern times.

I expect when Spring comes, we really see some fireworks. The Indivisible groups are just now getting organized and the Tax Day protest in April could well be larger than the January 21 demonstrations.

Off course members of the elite are found itching to nullify the vote when the vote does not go their way.

It is absolutely outrageous and unacceptable!

Only a fool would do such a thing.

Hey come to think of it, there's someone else who tried to de-legitimize a sitting president through lies and conjecture... I can't quite remember their name though, starts with a T I think...

Maybe you could help me out?

The Democrats obviously are scared to the point of trying to maintain a hate mantra all the way to the next election. This is in spite of the fact that Trump has factually only done things he was mandated to do.

Yeah. That statement says more about the mental stability of McAuliffe than it does about Trump.

Trump has no mandate, way more American citizens voted against him than for him.

Ehh... I don't think it'll fly. I don't really think the 25th covers this, even if we assume Trump were to be actually diagnosed with some kind of mental problem (which he probably won't be, whether he has one or not).

Look, Dems. If you want to start a coup because you think this system is ****ed, just be honest and say you're starting a coup, rather than trying to hide it under misuses of the Constitution.

Here is a letter from 33 mental health professionals all expressing concern about the mental health of Trump. They conclude that Trump cannot safely serve as president of the USA due to his mental instability.

Lance M. Dodes, M.D. - Letter To The Editor, NYT

To The Editors of the New York Times

Charles M. Blow (column, nytimes.com, Feb. 9) describes Donald Trump’s constant need “to grind the opposition underfoot.” As mental health professionals, we share Mr. Blow’s concern. Silence from the country’s mental health organizations has been due to a self-imposed dictum about evaluating public figures (the American Psychiatric Association’s 1973 Goldwater Rule). But this silence has resulted in a failure to lend our expertise to worried journalists and members of Congress at this critical time. We fear that too much is at stake to be silent any longer.

Mr. Trump’s speech and actions demonstrate an inability to tolerate views different from his own, leading to rage reactions. His words and behavior suggest a profound inability to empathize. Individuals with these traits distort reality to suit their psychological state, attacking facts and those who convey them (journalists, scientists). In a powerful leader, these attacks are likely to increase, as his personal myth of greatness appears to be confirmed. We believe that the grave emotional instability indicated by Mr. Trump’s speech and actions makes him incapable of serving safely as president.

Can we remove Nanci Pelosi because she has Alzheimers? I mean, sure, she wasn't been diagnosed with Alzheimers, but she forgets stuff all the time.

Does that sound at all familiar to what is going on with Trump? I enjoy how democrats want to remove him for having a mental illness even if he hasn't been diagnosed with one. Why? Because they believe he might have one based on signs they believe are there.

Not a single one has personally examined the President, nor have they obtained permission to then make public their evaluations.

That is both a violation of their professional code of ethics and also brings their whole profession into question as to integrity and reliability.

It is also empowering this group to make off-the-cuff public evaluations of anyone, you and I included, which poses a threat to our liberty interests.

Wow, so you have a long list of people with opinions that never saw him. Big whoop? Experts were saying Hillary had all sorts of diseases during the campaign, but I bet that didn't mean anything to you. If however you're cool with that then Hillary has Parkinson's according to some experts.

They forgot about the Golden Rule. I'll wait until someone examines Trump personally.

They forgot about the Golden Rule. I'll wait until someone examines Trump personally.

Actually what they did breaches their ethical code. They're not supposed to diagnose people like this.

Nor do they have to. They have seen far far far more of Trump via his speeches, his books, his public actions, his forty years of bing front and center with thousands and thousands of hours of material. That is far far far more than a person gets to see in a fifty minute session with an actual real in person patient.

The fact that they would publicly attach their names to such a letter knowing it goes against the standards of their profession says that these men and women are brave patriots who have placed country before themselves. They should be congratulated for that - not condemned.

This line of attack is disgusting.

So what do you think the chances are that Nancy Pelosi has Alzheimers? Do you know the percentage of 76 year old's that have it? The fact that she forgets stuff like who the current president is worries me. Can we kick her out too?
