Mattis: 'Very little doubt' Russia has interfered in elections

Except for the fact that Mattis isn't, as you say, Trump's own pick to lead the State Department, there is nothing surprising about what Mattis said. I'd say it's pretty much common knowledge and has been for decades. In fact, the US has had their share of doing the same thing.

So, no...this isn't all that interesting.

BTW, whether liberals have been saying this the past couple of months or not, this has no bearing on the other thing liberals have been saying for the past couple of months...that is, that the Russians attempted to interfere in OUR last election.

I'm interested in your opinion on this: Michal Flynn & Russia -- Release the Tape of Call with Russian Ambassador | National Review

I was wrong about the department Mattis leads, stupid mistake on my part

Will Mattis be the next one to "resign".

Will Mattis be the next one to "resign".

No. It's too hard for the left to find some crap to make up about him...though they keep trying.

An excellent analysis by NR.

Flynn committed no crime, yet the perception advanced by whomever is that he is unfit for office and some sort of traitor for talking to the Russians. Yes, he was dishonest with Pence, but that's about it.

This effort is simply to bring down the Trump administration because he had the temerity to stand up to the CIA last month.

Good relations with Russia is NOT on the agenda of TPTB. Strained relations and limited military clashes ARE on their agenda. Long live the Military Industrial Complex.

If it's true, as McCarthy says, that the Admin has allowed an empty narrative to turn into a scandal, then maybe tapes/transcripts should be released to put this matter to rest.

That's exactly what I thought.

I used to think it was bologna myself, but then I did a little research. There is definitely a quid-pro-quo going on of some sort between Trump, some other folks here, and Putin.

I agree completely, but that's not the American Way these days. Today, everything must be kept TOP SECRET for 'national security', and the citizens cannot view such material.

This is a very good article that will doubtless be ignored by most, but it explains a lot: Mike Flynn & FBI Investigation: Bureau Had No Basis for It | National Review

"No Basis"? Why then has the FBI acknowledged that there are at least three separate investigations at this time related to Russian interference in the 2016 election cycle?

from Reuters
The people who spoke to Reuters also corroborated a Tuesday New York Times report that Americans with ties to Trump or his campaign had repeated contacts with current and former Russian intelligence officers before the November election. Those alleged contacts are among the topics of the FBI counterintelligence investigation.

Now isn't this interesting. Trump's own pick to lead the State Department has said the same thing libruls have been saying for the past couple months. Do you think there are some 'discussions' taking place in the White House?

While I'm sure Mattis is more than capable of running State in his off-time, he is DoD Secretary.

And he is correct. Russia is absolutely interfering with others' elections, including likely our own.
