Schwarzenegger on Trump: I wanted to ?smash his face? | TheHill

Former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger (R) isn't backing away from his feud with President Trump, telling Men's Journal in an interview published Monday that he wanted to "smash his face."

Last month, Trump mocked the action film star's ratings as host of "The Celebrity Apprentice," which have been well below those of the president when he hosted the NBC reality show.

“I called my assistant and said, ‘I think what we really should do is request a meeting and go back to New York,’ ” Schwarzenegger said, pausing for emphasis. "And then we just smash his face into the table.”

Schwarzenegger added that he ultimately tried to take the high road.
“And then I think, ‘We can’t do that, either,’ ” he said. "I think I have to be above all that and put him on the spot. Don’t get into a stinking contest with a skunk.”

“Wow, the ratings are in and Arnold Schwarzenegger got ‘swamped’ or (destroyed) by comparison to the ratings machine, DJT,” Trump tweeted Jan. 6.

“So much for … being a movie star – and that was season 1 compared to season 14,” added Trump, who hosted the reality television series before becoming president. "Now compare him to my season 1.

"But who cares, he supported [2016 GOP presidential candidate John] Kasich and [2016 Democratic presidential nominee Hillary] Clinton.”

LOL while I have no doubts Arnold would probably win in a fist fight if it was one on one, Trump's SS detail would take down the Terminator with no problem.

Arnold has a lot of muscle mass of for a guy thats almost 70. Trump on the other hand is clinically obese.

He looks like he is wearing some body makeup for an alien invasion movie. That is hideous.

Arnold's just ginning up publicity by defaming the reality tv president.
It should be good for ratings, as an ever-increasing segment of society wants to see him actually do what he is suggesting.

I'm not sure about the "no problem" part. Arnold may be old, but he's still pretty muscular. I suspect it would take more than one or two of them to get him to the ground.

I agree. I never understood the appeal of a body builder.

Some of those folks look like they have tattooed a road map on their skin with all those tracks of veins---- just icky!!!!

Arnold is a male model for bodybuilding, and an actor. He's never been a fighter, and muscles alone don't make him one. *

Even when it comes to pure muscle, bodybuilders are not powerlifters. Most powerlifters are not "cut" and are more likely to have a gut than "abs" you can see. They're also massively stronger than most bodybuilders, whose training is about a LOOK, not functional strength.

He was never half as badass as his image, and certainly not now. This is braggadocio... he isn't stupid enough to punch a president. He has too much to lose.

(* addendum: yeah he did have some training for all those action movies, but again that was mainly about looking good in front of the camera rather than having real combat skills.)

And how much fight training did Trump get? :2razz:

Now wait a minute.

I saw a documentary about him one time.

Let me see if I can find it on You tube...

OK here it is.

Loved that movie. Way better than the sequel. It kind of suited Ah-nold since he didn't have to talk much.

The quote in the OP says as much.

I'm not sure about "braggadocio," though. Regardless of the points you've made regarding training and power, I think it's fairly certain that as long as security looked the other way, The Governator would have no problem smashing Trump's fat face into a desk.

One is apparently still in great shape. The other's only exercise is raising a buck of KFC and swinging a golf club.

I loved when Arnold said this, notice no more whining about The Apprentice from Trump after that one.

You don't know Trump well. He has to balance the time he dedicates to feuding with Arnold with time he dedicate to feuding with a random liberal in Congress. And after he's done with that he has to dedicate a couple hours a day to being president. Besides, Trump only said that stuff to try and boost the ratings for the show. Trump doesn't care too much either way since he's likely collecting royalty fees.

Do you think he's still doing 'roids?

I would imagine he is on testosterone replacement therapy. Probably 200 mg a week of test cyp, some HGH, and Deca for his joints. He still has to train like hell though to maintain the muscle.

As someone that has done some work on building muscle mass you're half right. Body builders aren't power lifters, but they not only work on muscle definition by increased reps and sets, they also have to build body mass by increased weight. And part of body building is endurance training as in running daily.

I would put the strength and fitness of a body builder up against the average Joe any day and definitely against a lard ass like Trump or Bannon. I could see Arnold over powering both of them at the same time easily and quickly.

IIRC during the Vietnam draft he had a foot problem.
He still does, it is called foot and mouth disease.
