In the small Gulf Coast city of Victoria, Texas, there are several churches, but just one synagogue, and one mosque — at least, until the mosque mysteriously burned down on Saturday, according to the New York Times. Now, in a sense, the synagogue has become a mosque: the Jews of Victoria handed the Muslims the key to the building, so they would a place to worship while rebuilding.
There is just one problem with the article..... Victoria is not on the Gulf Coast. it is inland. LOL.
But this is typical of how Christians, Jews, and Muslims get along in most parts of Texas. Here in Houston, they do business with each other, attend events with each other, and yes, many are close friends. In fact, the Interfaith Council of Houston consists of Catholics, many Protestant denominations, Jews, and Muslims, all with a common goal..... Ending hate. I have to say that it is working here quite well. So, before you spout off about how Texas is backwards, just STFU. LOL.
NOTE: This is how REAL Christians operate in this neck of the woods.

NOTE2: Although I am half Jewish, I was brought up Protestant, and have attended churches, temples, and mosques with the many friends I have. I have attended white, black, and brown religious ceremonies, and was the bass player for a while at a black church. I have also spent the last 23 years working for 2 Iranian owned contracting companies. My own life has been enriched by all these interactions. Those who hate because of religion or ethnicity have no idea what they are missing. Say all the bad things you want about me now. That's OK. Doesn't lessen the fulfilment I have one iota, and certainly won't make any day bad for me. Words are just words, but love for one another is something which is real, and which will not ever be defeated by hate. At the end of days, I will stand before my creator and say "Thank you for this wonderful life you gave me".
