"Göring: Why, of course, the people don't want war. Why would some poor slob on a farm want to risk his life in a war when the best that he can get out of it is to come back to his farm in one piece? Naturally, the common people don't want war; neither in Russia nor in England nor in America, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy or a fascist dictatorship or a Parliament or a Communist dictatorship.

Gilbert: There is one difference. In a democracy, the people have some say in the matter through their elected representatives, and in the United States only Congress can declare wars.

Göring: Oh, that is all well and good, but, voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same way in any country."

I don't believe it serves your cause well to project such substantial evidence no rational argument exists to support your objective.

People are easily manipulated by fear of the unknown.

They can be.

We know from the past election, and many previous ones, that the press tends to have a bias for Demokrats.

So, with that in mind, we can probably add a few points to the "support" side of the equation.

When there is a red squiggly line under a word, it means it's misspelled.

I didn't mention President Trump nor Hitler. I am showing that fear is exploited by leadership. You are free to repeat the mistakes of history if you so desire.

You godwined.

From your link.
Reichsmarschall Hermann Wilhelm Göring [also rendered as Goering] (12 January 1893 – 15 October 1946) was a German politician, military leader, and leading member of the Nazi party. He was founder of the Gestapo, and Head of the Luftwaffe.

You are arguing that the argument is false because you consider the conclusion to be undesirable? Interesting.

Don't you find it suspicious that you cannot articulate a cogent rebuttal?

Except it's not just a ban on refugees from those 7 countries; it's a ban on tourists, businessmen, airline pilots and cabin crew, and sportsmen born in those countries - even if they've spent most of their lives in Western countries.

All the better. Except for accredited diplomats of nations with which this country maintains normal relations, no alien has any right whatever to enter U.S. territory. Our government may exclude any alien or group of aliens it does not want here, for any reason whatever.

You said you didn't refer to Hitler. I am just pointing out that you did godwin.

I'm not saying Nazi but.............Nazi.

Ah. So I take it you agree such a provision is not present in these treaties?

.

I don't see one . Perhaps Manc Skipper could educate.

Not really, i'm just illuminating a valid parallel. You seem to have no actual way to attack the parallel so you keep saying godwin as though that's relevant when it's not.

Saudi Arabia, Yemen, UAE, Egypt? Where are they on the list? Oh, that's right. people from the nations that actually attacked us are not on the list.

This thread is a joke, just like Trump.

What about Russia? Two of the San Bernardino perps were from Russia, one of the Boston Marathon bombers was born in the USSR, the other in a Caucasus republic. Where's the ban on people coming from Russia? Or Pakistan?

LOL

Perhaps I'm not familiar with the "drop mic" concept. :wassat1:

A mic drop is the gesture of intentionally dropping one's microphone at the end of a performance or speech to signal triumph

Because there is a Trump Hotel in Moscow.

Hmmmm... I know the Jews weren't flying planes into the Reichstag.

I know the Jews didn't take trucks and drive over people enjoying festivities during the summer or Christmas.

I know Jews didn't go into a magazine's office twice and mow down those working there.

I know Jews didn't go into a Nazi Gay Club and kill masses of its inhabitants.

I know Jews didn't go to their place of work and kill a dozen or more workmates.

I know Jews weren't beheading "infidels".

I know Jews did not have a significant portion of their population infected with the disease of Jewish Jihad because they didn't like western culture.

I know Jews were not responsible for turning a peaceful country like Sweden into the 2nd in rape in the world behind South Africa.

I also know Islamic Freaks have been doing the above all over the world, and all over western civilization.

Yes, Absentglare... you are easily manipulated... as the quote in my signature line below between Podesta and Ivey note, you are one of the "unaware and compliant". Ignorant and pliable.

It's not that these threats are unknown... they are known. It's not like Nazi's ginning up an enemy. We have not only known threats and unknown threats hiding amongst peaceful Muslims.

I would think these people would fear these assholes too, and want them eradicated from the earth. If not... they... like you... are a serious problem.

Hot damn! Once upon a time 57% of respondents thought the earth was flat and the center of the known universe. The masses are so well informed, so rational.

When Hillary led in the polls they were considered very informed.

Aren't polls just a bunch of BS?

They all have that potential. I would suggest that the Dems continue to ignore all signs that they are on the losing side of the issues.

You can bend and stretch as much as you like, but Trump's actions have nothing to do with the Muslim faith.

Nice dodge my man, very nice dodge. If his actions have nothing to do with religion, why on earth does he keep invoking "radical Islamic whatever it is" he likes to talk about?

In other words, why does he never mention "radical Christian soldiers" or some such? "radical jewish soldiers"?????
