Obama’s Final Whopper as President

hey, lol! I may be nitpicking but if we enact voter ID laws, it's because WE should, not because everyone else is.

If all other advanced countries do X, Y, and Z, should we do that too? :doh

Odd... that's the precise argument used by the Demokrats when trying to pass their idiotic EuroSocialist agenda... all these other (failed) EU states do this... yada, yada, yada.

The EuroSocialist claptrap fails miserably everywhere it has been tried, yet we should be lemmings and jump off the cliff too?

What's wrong with having identification which ensures a free and fair election?

Are you against fair elections?

Why is it that Snowflakes don't like it when somebody calls Obama a liar?

Well, in this case the OP invented statements Obama didn't make, then accused Obama of lying about something he never actually said. :doh

They get upset about a lot of things, run around marching and cussing up a storm, and generally have temper tantrums when they don't get their way. I don't mind them doing some of this, but I don't take that kind of behavior seriously. Truthfully, if they can't articulate their political views in a more mature manner, at my age I feel no need to address their concerns. Hopefully they'll grow out of it.

That's sort of a bizarre rant criticizing liberals in a thread that is premised on Obama lying about something he never said - the allegation about Obama was the lie. SAD!

No, I'm saying that most "advanced countries" have a voter ID, and even Mexico has a very stringent voter ID requirement.

Understand now??

Yes, and Mexico's voter ID card with photo, thumb print, etc. has become very popular in Mexico. The government issues the card free to those registering to vote and the card has become the most popular form of Photo ID the citizens use elsewhere as acceptable identification at the bank, airport, etc. Almost all adult Mexican have one.

They have to produce a birth certificate, another form of ID, and a utility bill or other means to prove their address to get the card, and they need the same documents to renew it every 10 years.

And nobody seems to think the cards are anything but a plus and they restored the citizen's faith in their elections.

Eloquent.

As long as I'm criticizing liberals, I figure I might as well every target I can. I'm getting old. I don't have time for little, inconsequential details. Obama has lied to the entire nation knowingly. He probably will again. I've lied, and I probably will again. It will invariably come up, that, "Did you put the _________ out?" And I'll reply that indeed I did, even though I didn't for whatever reason - the chief one being that since putting out the ___________ is my job everyday, no one else will know whether I did or I didn't. Despicable me. Naturally, since I'm not president and not talking about anything of significance, nobody really cares.

Why thanks. Ain't nothing I ever wrote been called eloquent before. Probably 'cause it isn't. But I should practice up for this stuff, instead of just wingin it.

I you ain't careful, I'm gonna start calling you "Loquacious."

I don't think we need "photo ID" at all to vote - that's what we were discussing. There is no evidence that photo ID at the polls solves any problem that exists with long lists of acceptable ID that include non-photo forms.

As long as we accept absentee or mail-in voting, voter ID laws will always be under-enforced and therefore incapable of preventing fraud.

Haven't liberals been telling the US they SHOULD mimic Europe on social policy, environmental policy, drug policy, policing, legal and a number of other social issues for a very long time?

Because of outcomes, not because of conformity.

You did not answer the question:

I don't understand.

Do you think having an ID is the only possible barrier to voting...?

Access to a local polling station, having time off work while that station is open, short lines, the right to vote,- none of those things can make it more or less difficult to vote?

Thank you, JasperL.

I couldn't have said it better myself.

I think the people who complain the loudest about these things declaring that everyone else is just talking non-sense actually know what goes on. They just choose to deflect away from the issues in the hopes that no one notices their bull:eek:uch:.

Propaganda may scream, but the truth is silent.

And of course absentee voting, where nearly all the known "voter fraud" takes place, and that in almost all cases GOP leaders did NOTHING to restrict that, tells you all you need to know about the motives of "photo ID" laws. Any effect on voter fraud was a happy by product of the real goal of making it harder to vote for some mostly democratic voters.

That's a silly saying. But while you're there, what is the truth - you can if you want debunk my assertions...

No, i was criticizing the right which uses high volume rhetoric to cloud the issue and deflect from their bull.

I'm sorry, I mistook your comment as coming from someone else. :peace

I point you to the multiple loud demonstrations in the last week. DNC does it, too, but in a different way.
